Every now and then we get a rush of folks who surf in, create profiles, post a few, and then disappear into the big black hole of cyber-space. Just for fun, have you ever been curious as to who just surfs in and out without getting to know any of us regular posters?
Definitions:
A fan, aficionado or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking of a sporting club, person, group of persons, company, product, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing constitute its fanbase or fandom. They may start a fan club, hold fan conventions, create fanzines, write fan mail, or engage in similar activities.

I don't know if we can limit them to just 3 categories. They could be banned posters stopping by for a looksie.

Actually, I think all forums exist to fill the void of companionship.
Sharing a passion for a certain subject (in our case, all things William Shatner) makes us feel connected in some way.
But look at the percentage of threads that are actually Shatner related. Not that many.
Drive by posters are just looking for a place they feel they can fit in and sometimes they do find it and sometimes not. |

I voted groupie. Groupies are bad gropers if they can get away with it. But my favorite are the trollers that come here trying to start some trouble and then everyone swarms on them like a bunch of Africanized bees. I live for the times that trolls come to the board! Can't get enough of them trolls!

 As a matter of fact I did! Since trolls look like they've got tribbles parked on top of their heads I thought "Now that's an idea! Attract them with something that they really like and want! What troll could pass up the opportunity to enhance their doos with more tribbles?" Kinda like those old fashioned rats that used to be used in beehive hairdos. Made a lot of sense to me! |

Well, at least we don't have any of those pesky paparazzi hanging around. I suppose it is hard to sneak a camera into a message board.
Of course, they might try to sneak in with Skype, if we ever get hooked up here on this board. Now that's a scary thought! |
