And if TV Land shows Buster Keaton, they damn well better show the ones with Eddie Cline directing! I don't want to see the ones after he signed the big studio contract! |
DAMN STRAIGHT! You took the very words out of my tonsils. If we work together - you, Morgram and I - we can bring a devolution to TV as we know it. Get back to basic, wholesome slapstick and banana skins on the floor. |
Now we're getting somewhere with our newly formed think tank! And when the banana skin is on the floor and the actor slips on it, I want a lot of sunlight! The actor needs to throw himself high up into the air and fall flat on his back, the way Chaplain did it! If he gets hurt, too bad! Charlie Chaplin didn't get hurt! Learn to fall and like it, TV Land actor!
TV Land is giving me skin cancer! What's next? A name change to TB Land with every viewer getting tuberculosis?? |

Far too modern! I want cinema from pre-1920, otherwise I'll eat celluloid and film canisters, until TV Land gets it right. |

Harry mentioned that TV Land has the ability to show Geo. Melies. Anything from George Melies: 1st Wizard of Cinema--1896 to 1913. Also, we can have TV Land show Ernst Lubitsch's The Doll (1919), The Oyster Princess (1919) and I Don't Want to be a Man (1919).
I'd like to see Victor Sjostrom's The Outlaw and His Wife (1918) but do you think TV Land will show these films?? I want more Louise Brooks!
Stan Laurel had a great film called, No Place Like Jail in 1918, but Eddie Sutherland didn't like to direct Stan (Flying Deuces), so Stan dug his own TV Land grave with that broken relationship! |

Because of TV Land, I had to go to Noodlehead Media and buy a DVD. Thanks a lot, TV Land! You have people eating film because of your programming decisions. There goes our healthcare, because of TV Land!! Thanks again, TV Land! |

We could use more images like that around here!
Guess what? I just got back from Amish Country and happened to mention TV Land. Well, this Amish guy who probably never owned a TV set, looked right at me and said, "TV Land sucks! You call that classic television?" I tried to help by saying, "They still show Hogan and Klink". Well, he gave me a look that could kill and said, "Don't be so backwards! You can throw a dog a bone, but don't think the dog will accept it!" I still can't translate everything they say.
TV Land has sunk so low, that even the Amish people know it sucks!! |

I am American. rah rah. far as I am concerned the whole gun love thing is a mass psychosis, and remarks like "we can be peaceful and we'll fight to be" are evidence of some kind of tragic schizophrenia.
I am with George Harrison, who said "if all the people who own guns would just shoot themselves, there wouldn't be a problem." |

As far as I'm concerned, blah, blah, blah. You may think defending another's right to own a television set without TV Land is a form of psychosis, but I'd have to say it's a part of being free to choose NOT to watch TV Land!
Can you cope with the fact that most people who answered this DO NOT own guns but have a different opinion than the one you wish to force on others? Can you cope? No guns, not in love with them. Can you cope?
I think you're really out of touch, but that's O.K. As far as TV Land goes, you ain't missin a thang, baby! |

The more I think about it, this isn't Jena Fuller. It's someone from TV Land trying to change the subject! You can't fool me, TV Land!! |

Calling me a tragic schizophrenic isn't going to win you any brownie points with me any time soon, Fuller, and since I personally don't own guns guess I don't need to be shooting myself. But you sure shoot off your impolite and obnoxious mouth at the drop of a hat. Happiness isn't exactly a warm gun, but being someone who supposedly preaches peace you sure have a deadly attitude towards others. Very hypocritical, extremely so! Get a grip and keep your comments like that to yourself! If you're an advocate of peace then show it! And I think Johnny is right! You're a subversive TvLand spy! |

I went to the movies when I was in Paris Texas last year and on the door was a sign asking people not to bring their guns into the cinema.
It struck me as funny that firstly anyone would even consider taking a gun to a movie in the first place and even more interesting that there was a need to ask people not to.
This is the cultural difference I am talking about, the way guns are so much a part of daily living. Its slightly disturbing for an outsider when your just not used to this.
I remember asking on an aussie forum about driving in the US and any tips people could give, like driving around round abouts in the opposite direction and one poster commented, don't get into an argument, they carry guns over there. Again not something I would have considered an issue (and I don' believe it is).
Is it something people living in the US even notice or is it so common it goes largely un-noticed.
Mind you with all those unseen guns around you would have to be an idiot to do anything wrong wouldn't you. |

You just don't get it, do you.
No, we don't think about it, because it's not an issue.
No, everyone does not carry concealed guns.
No, it is not so common it goes unnoticed.
No, we don't worry about being randomly shot while driving.
No, we don't have a "gun culture". Some people own guns, others don't. Most of us don't, and don't ever think about it. Don't believe everything you hear on the telly. Believe it or not, the "talkie box" does not know everything.
Again, please explain to us outsiders how you guys could so easily be willing to cave, and give up your rights. Do you really believe the government should control all you say and do? How very odd. It's really hard to understand for us outsiders who believe in personal freedoms.
Just a hint for the future; get the facts from a reliable source. Not from some silly Aussie forum where the lads don't have a clue what they are talking about, from movies, or from TV.
Again, concentrating on fixing what's wrong in your own backyard might be a better way to spend time. As I mentioned before, Aus has a terrible problem with men being chauvenistic. They are years and years behind us here, and I think it's time you guys were brought into the right century. I mean, do you ever think about it over there? I guess you just have a "culture of it". Oh, and please do something about your tabloid newspaper reporting. It's something us outsiders find disturbing........ |
