Not doing Can't afford to do anything. Might go see the Bass Pro Shop in downtown OkC. Might try to go to the zoo. See? Alot of mights. We've mostly been walking around the park at twilight. There's free concerts there on Thurs. nights and sometimes we see those. Our cheapest entertainment is sitting outside in the evenings and watching all the young kids skidding around the corner on two wheels as they drive by. Only a matter of time before they run into someone. |

| Well, since I attended the WSW in April and Bob just got home from five weeks in Sicily, I think that we are both wanting to just stay home and enjoy some quiet time with the family. |

Yesterday we went to visit my SIL in her summer cottage, a car ride that took 3 hours each way. Just the cost of gas for that took enough to put a sizable dent in our summer economy. Well, there's always local museums, swimming in the lake, and now that hubby is retired he gets to ride the tram/bus system for free. I always enjoy the downtown summer sidewalk sales, even if I mostly just window shop. But then I have to be with a female friend - shopping with men is just no fun - for either of us.

| Tried to get a vacation going, but because of time and money it looks like we're going to stick to local things. I'm hoping to line up a decent week of fun with my girlfriend. A trip to the New York Botanical Gardens and looking for fun stuff in NYC to do is a start. I'd also like to do some kayaking, hiking, bike riding, tennis, and other activities. Then there's always finding some good movies to see out or at home. Just trying to keep busy before I start Graduate School in the fall! |

OH NO!! Now with our already stretched economy we just got a new problem...the exhaust pipe just fell off the car! Hopefully it wasn't too damaged - just the ring thingies that held it up were broken. Hubby is taking it in to the mechanic tomorrow.

Day trippers here too. I sent away for NY, PA and NJ summer guides, and going to do lots of movies and bowling, along with festivals, carivals, staying with friends down at their beach house, etc. With gas prices the way they are, no money to really go away.
I will take the kids down to my sister's in VA for a week, but trying hard to keep it reasonable and close to home. |

| Instead of going to the Outer Banks, I decided to do something WILD this year! I'm really going to treat myself to a good time and splurge! I'm really going to indulge and put a new subfloor in the upstairs bathroom. Talk about living the good life!! |

riverfest starts in 2 weeks sothat will give us something to do. Carnivals food night, Flea markest a huge parade and fire works all in one week...That will keep us busy here in town, and half the stuff I could probably walk to as it's a few blocks from my house.

Me- I would LIKE to take a vacation- get away and camp someplace cool (like the mountains) for a couple of weeks.
However, that is unlikely considering the age and condition of our car (15 years old and around 190,000 miles- it's tired!) and the cost of gas. Probably, we will just stay at home- although there are some nice camping areas in Florida.
(Only three days out of the 5 weeks in Sicily were "fun" and relaxing- the rest I was working and dealing with problems- I could USE a low-stress vacation!) |
