For Paypal the Horseshow.org site front page has a Paypal donations button that you can press do the same thing as the store - buy a $1.00 donation. |
Please excuse my ignorance Paul, but I cannot find the "buy a donation" place. I have been to the store and my old eyes just are not seeing it. I see merchandise to buy, which I really do not need. I just want to, as you say purchase a donation. If I simply click on the PayPal button, it takes me to the place to donate, but there is no place to specify what it is for. It is as if it were just a general donation.
I know, I am probably overlooking something or am just plain stupid. At any rate, being a holiday weekend, I will wait and see what others think of this project. I have already raised some on my own to put towards it. |
I went in and cleaned up the text on the page and worked on the PayPal button just after I posted but I turned off the Order button accidentally. You can use the same page now to get to the PayPal donation page or use a CC in the store to make a donation. |
Ok Paul,
I just went through PAL and made a donation; however there was no comment line, so there was no way to specify what it was for. It just went as a general donation. That's ok, but I would really like to find out where the comment area is at. Can you put a screenshot of it or something?
Sorry to be so dumb.
OHHHHHH! I just saw the 1.00 donation button. DUH! And I see the comment area! Looks like they will get two donations this time. I want to make sure everything goes through ok.
You will have to forgive this old lady. She has come a long way from the smoke signals days. But hey, I'm learning!!! |

OK. I made the donations ok, one through paypal and the other through the button on the side.
Hint to folks doing this. Don't click the icon, click the words that say, "donate here."
Oh and by the way, this is what I put in the comment line:

OK kids! I think we have enough to pay for a pair of horse ears, but that's not going to help those kids, so lets get busy and get the rest of the horse. |

Paul,
I want to get your approval for this before I put it in my signature line. I would also welcome comments from everyone else.
Of course, I will size it down a bit before doing so.
To be perfectly honest, I am feeling a bit out of my comfort zone right now. I prefer to fly under the radar when it comes to charity giving. I don't want to be show offy or boisterous. I am not the one who is important. It is the recipients who are important.
The reason this became important to me is that in some Native American cultures, it is considered a great honor to gift someone a horse. And while, in this case, we would not exactly be gifting a horse, but sponsoring one, it would be the next best thing.
OK, I am going to get quiet now. |
