I know in several communities they are the big, happening thing...
Should we do an official William Shatner Wiki? I would need several of you guys to help populate it and keep it running. It would be a perfect spot to keep all of Doc's stuff and TRexx's newsclippings, etc...
What are your thoughts? It's not very difficult to add content to the Wiki once it gets going and I know a lot of you are very talented writers.
Let me know and if you think it's a good idea - we'll make it happen.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a "wiki?"
Sounds Hawaiian. |

A Wiki is a collaborative information database of information.
Wikipedia is a good example of it - it's user generated and allows for the sorting of huge amounts of information by many different variable and searches.

| The Wikipedia is good for a biographical entry but I'm talking about a more extensive one with articles, news stories, just a collection of Bill knowledge and facts. |

From the viewpoint of his fans I reckon. |

I have come to realize that I am probably the "absolute worst fan" in the universe. |

Would there be any downside to tinkering with an inhouse wiki to see if it develops a pulse? In the spirit of, "Build it, and they shall come."
We've already got this web server, and several wiki engines are available free for the download (including MediaWiki, the software used by Wikipedia).

What a bunch of nerds! It takes one to know one. It seems like a good idea to me. We could contribute a whole lot of trivia as well as being watchdogs for false information. The venerable Encyclopedia Britannica looks upon Wikipedia as a threat but that's their problem. I am in favor of the project and will be happy to help.
Thanks for letting us in on this, Paul. |

I was thinking it would be housed here on this server, not anywhere else. |

I think it would be a good idea. Would it be organized by alphabetical order of themes? For instance all plays William Shatner has played in would be found under section T for theatre (or theater) etc....
How about the name: wikibill, maybe? |

Right. You said, "Should we". Me said, "We've already got this web server."
I'd like to see a wiki that somehow melds with this BBS, rather than be perceived as an entirely separate or remote entity.
