Not that I have any feelings for George, I havnt! I just think he has an interesting face.
George I felt never really got over the fact others did well out of TOS but he didn't. I always felt he was not a very good actor just a bit part player.
Nothing wrong with that iether I loved Ed Bishop. but he was only a bit part player after UFO.
Still working on digital art styles here.

I agree with you on George's face and his career. He always had a handsome face when he was younger. But he needs to let go of the past. Good work by the way, Daisy! |

George has lived on conventions, and slurs to his fellow actors in TOS.
I am sorry but I never liked this kind of Jealousy from him.
Glad you liked the art:)

That is precisely why I have never been to or will ever attend a ST convention.... not even for Bill or Leonard. I much prefer seeing actors do what they do best.... act. I actually love it when I see some of the ST cast members in other roles. Some of them were rather new and young in the series, but have seasoned well into being good character actors.
Perhaps if George would spend more time developing his craft, he would do better.
One thing I admire about James Spader is that one time when Boston Legal was very new, James was on some talk show promoting the show. The host asked him about working with Bill and brought up the comment that others thought that Bill was hard to work with. James told the host that he was delighted to work with Bill and wanted him in as many scenes with him as possible. James commented that Bill was a master at his craft and wanted to learn from him. (note, naturally I am paraphrasing all this, because I don't have access to exact quote, but the meaning is pretty accurate.) |

You're very welcome, Daisy!
I've never liked jealousy, neither. It's crass, rude, and childish and it's embarrassing seeing that come out of an adult. That stuff should be reserved for infants.
But I will say that I've been fortunate to see Bill at two conventions, along with John DeLancie, and Jonathan Frakes. I missed Leonard Nimoy by minutes. My Trek experiences have been filled with lots of laughter and wonder at seeing people so devoted to the whole Trek dream, to the actors. I've also seen people go who were hell-bent on making trouble, also. Hecklers who were there to humiliate the actors. I've seen such friendly demeanors from the actors I've met and I've been met with cold indifference when I couldn't afford to buy one of their products. All I can say is when you go to a Trek convention it takes all kinds to make one happen and they're all there. The people who dress up, the people who go in shorts and t-shirts because alot of times the one in Tulsa is sweltering hot in June, and I've even seen cowboys, too, who love our space cowboy, Bill. It takes all kinds. |

I have said it many times. There is only one way to see heaps of Bill and that is at the Hollywood Charity Horse Show weekend with the captains Club fans.
Had some wonderful moments with My Hero

The conventions are the only way we can go because it's close to home and affordable. Not this year it isn't affordable. Gas crunch you know. I've talked about doing the ShatnerWeekend with my husband and the prices are reasonable for people who can afford to fly over and spend money for food and lodgings. We're just not able to. By the time things even out in the finances over here Bill will be staying home and resting on his laurels. It'll be a looooong time for us. |

We had Ed Bishop as a guest at one of our conventions and he was a really nice guy. He had just done a major production for BBC2 about an American reporter during the WWII and was excellant.
When I was the guest liaison oficer, I met quite a few of the actors from TOS, STNG, DS9, UFO, Dr Who, Blakes 7 etc and out of all of them, Deforest and Carolyn Kelly were the nicest ánd I have extremely fond memories of days spent in their company.
You can get very disallusioned quite quickly with some of them but then, they are only human and subject to the same weaknesses the rest of us are.

Wonderful that you met Ed
I have him on Audible he did Philip Marlowe for BBC as well. He worked none stop. and was a very hard working actor, he was even on TOS animated:) and he was also the pilot in 2001.
I loved him in UFO though. and have toyed with getting Captain Scarlet just to here his voice:)

I know what you mean My Daughter is going through a very rough patch in the US , they lost 2 huge cinema complexes in 2 years, and bankrupt as well. The wages are so low over there I doubt if they will ever get straightened out . a big worry .
You never know you may see Bill one day at the HCHS. I hope so as you say he may retire soon:) IDOUBT IT THOUGH
Good luck

That's the problem with some towns that are fairly far away from the big city. Chickasha's economy could worsen as time passes. Small town life will suffer While over here in my town it's expanding so fast that it really makes a person feel claustrophobic. It's too close to the city. I'm really sorry to hear of your daughter's losses and hope that some day she and her family can recover. I sure do appreciate you wishing me luck on visiting California some day. I'd sure love to be doing so and it would really be nice to meet you and hopefully some of the others that I've been so fortunate to meet here on the forum. And if not, then that's ok,too. Just being here is a treat, also. Especially when I get to bug people now and then! |
