Henci Beautiful! (Hen chay is Hello in Muskogee)
I'm glad things are going well there! I won't be able to be in contact much unless things change- we have to come into town and use the internet cafe computers- and they're driving me crazy! Ask me about the keyboard when I get home.
The driving is very rough here. I've got a video of the ride down from the place we stay- it's only a couple of miles at most, but it takes me about 15 to 30 minutes to travel it one time- and I sweat HARD when I do.
We're getting smaller vehicles- what we have is too big for the roads we have to travel and it's been rather dangerous.
Everyone is doing fine- one girl got badly sunburned (2nd degree all over her arms) and had to go to the hospital. The food is fantastic- the stuff we get in the restaurants in the US is junk compared to here (Italian food, that is).
We saw a 5 masted clipper ship this morning sailing the Mediterranian.
Monday we drove from here south and then across the island to Palarma (biggest city on Sicily on western tip). The Island is beautiful!!!
We also need prayers- we're having political problems and it's delaying starting our dig. In fact, call Vonnie if you would and ask her for special protection and aid prayers.
We're staying outside a tiny town called Allume, just west of Roccalumera on the northeast coast. It's everything I've said.
Well, got to go. I have to change over my email settings so I can keep communicating. Tell everyone on the Shatner site that I'm driving on roads that the local Sicilians consider bad!!!
I won't be able to check your connections this week... maybe later if I can make arrangements to use my laptop here at this internet Cafe.
Give Sunshine, Snickers, Cubby, and the others a big hug for me!!! Also
give yourself one! I miss you - and if the roads weren't so scary, wish
you were here!!! You'd love the food, the scenery, the people, and the weather has been warm but nice.
I think I'm loosing weight too.
I also miss kitty snuggles, so give some extra ones for me!
Love ya!!!
Feke Cate (Fee gee Jah dee is "heart red" in Muskogee) That is Bob's Muskogee name, though most folks call him Red Heart. |
