It's been such a long wait I don't care how bad it is. Remember the wait for ST The Motion Picture? It could have been a remake of Spocks Brain for all I cared.  |

I enjoyed it right up until the last 10 minutes of the film, it was just so outlandishly bad the ending i mean as to be laughable, but the rest of the film was fantastic
But i think they should draw a line under it now and not have an indy 5 with shia leboeuf as the lead which is what george lucas is bandying about at the moment

| I have to agree the last bit was a bit of a let down and CGI was right waste of time but apart from that I loved it |

Just seemed to be Indiana Jones: Generations just cementing in stone that the past is the past and there's a new person to take up the gauntlet.
I'm sure it will do well at the Box Office but it pales in comparison even to the 3rd one. There's some memorable winks back - the picture on his desk, the statue in the college quad, the broken crate.... but overall I just thought it was passable (and only because it was an Indy movie.) |

They waited too long to make it . Look how long it took for the dvd's to come out .
I grew up with Indy and am a huge fan but Harrison is too old now .
I liked the film , I just think it should have been made 10 years ago . |

| I thought it lacked the wit and panache of the previous films. I happily suspended my disbelief for the first three, but this stretched it to breaking point. I had to go and see it, but felt let down by the whole experience, sadly. |

Took the family which includes my husband, my 19 and 13 year old daughters as well as the 19 year old's boyfriend and best friend.
We were six total and we had a hoot.
The audience was clapping throughout and we enjoyed immensely.
SPOILER ALERT:
The jeep race through the jungle on the edge of the cliff was fabulous as was the water ride.
Harrison Ford is the quintessential Indy although my 13 year old thought Shia LaBouef to be the bees knees. She was frightened during the last scene with the alien intradimensional being and declares that Spielberg is responsible for her nightmares of aliens.
I thought the native Peruvian warriors were underutilized. They were amazing!
I thought Marion was a great to have back - that cheeky grin is trademark.
the giant ants and the scorpions scene were worthy creepy scenes and so was the quicksand with the snake.
The beginning scene through the warehouse of crates was fabulous.
I thought John Hurt was wonderful as the decrepit and possessed Ox.
Cate Blanchette was OK as the bad girl Soviet. I thought her demise was the only lame (tame) scene in the movie. Usually the bad guys meet a more grotesque fate than being transformed into sand and blown out a hole in the roof. |

| I really liked it a lot!!! Was it better than the last film??? No, but it was your typical Indiana Jones "cheesey". Could the ending have been better??? Yes, but what a nod to that other Spielberg film (don't want to spoil for those who haven't seen it yet). It could have been more grandiose than it was. |

I think the movie was hobbled by the casting and writing of Indy's son, Mutt.
Harrison Ford is a solid leading-man actor, a charming lady's man, and he's entirely believable in rugged adventure situations. It was genius to cast Sean Connery as Indy's father, because Connery likewise fits the role of a legendary character, so the audience can see where Indy got his cheek (in every meaning of the word).
Dramatic, masculine actors often do well in lighthearted or comedic roles. Cary Grant and Spencer Tracy are other classic examples.
So, what on earth were the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull producers thinking when they cast Shia LaBeouf as Indy's son? Mutt comes across as a baby-faced loser who acts like a temperamental greaser to compensate for being a mama's boy. He's not his father's son. No "Henry Jones 3.0".
In this latest movie, we can see that Indy is getting too old to continue these action adventures, but there's no way to imagine (seriously) LaBeouf's Mutt filling Indy's boots. It was fitting, at the end, that Indy grabbed his trademark fedora away from Mutt (who promptly resumed primping himself).
Another disappointment is that Indy meets the same fate as Shrek: Henpecked domestication. Shrek went from being the swaggering master of his domain to a "Yes, dear" baggage carrier. Ditto for Indy, now with the nag and mutt.

I like spoilers...yes, I do! Thanks, guys!  Actually, it's good to hear these things because it'll probably be on dvd before I get to see it and I refuse to pay admission to the theatre anymore. Highway robbery!    |

Well, I agree with the price of admission getting high, but:
I had one free ticket my daughter was carrying around, and one of my daughters is 13 which entitles her to the kid fee of $6 rather than $10.
Also, had we went to see the 5 pm performance rather than the 7 pm, we would have all paid the matinee price of $6.
There's two for Tuesday, which means that two adults pay the regular fare of $10 (5 bucks each).
We no longer buy movie popcorn (it's cruddy anyways) and so, it turned out to be $46 for 6 persons for the 7 pm Sunday performance. I thought that was rather fair for the chance to see Indy on the big screen.
And that's in Canadian currency.
