filly eight bells had to be immediately euthanized after breaking both front legs. Horse racing should be outlawed if it takes an act of congress to do it.

The run for the roses has always been something I've enjoyed watching. I'm not sure why. It's the only horse race I watch. But I must admit that I was very upset when I heard about Eight Belles. I was routing for her. She came in second and now she's gone. It's a sad day for many people.

I don't know if its actually a common event for a horse to get hurt like that during a race, but then again I don't really watch races. As far as getting it outlawed...look how many race car drivers have died on the track...it will never happen.

It was such a shame for that to happen. She was a beautiful horse. I haven't heard the newspeople say exactly what happened after the finish line. Perhaps she was pulled up too fast and put too much weight on her forelegs and ankles while stopping? What would cause injuries like these?

Man, that's really sad about Ocho Bells. With all of the advances in the medical field, you'd think there was another alternative.

Morgram,
TCM is having a Memorial Day tribute with movies like, The Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, Where Eagles Dare, Too Late The Tanner, Apocaypse Now (Tanner's still in Saigon), stuff like that.
