Me and Cat were talking about the episode of TOS where Spock's brain goes missing. And that led me to thinking what if women/men had to choose as to whether it could be someone other than Spock. Sure Spock's mind power is enormous and could run a city, but there are so many worthy candidates also. I'm listing the reasons why or why not the rest of the TOS crew should be hooked up to the city, but if you want to put someone else other than a TOS crew member in and the reasons why then that would be fun too!

Spock: Enormous energy potential for running a city, but ladies if you want a man who's not going to bug you for pon far except for every 7 years and knocks your socks off when he gets around to it, then don't hook him up to the city! He's also neat and clean and picks up after himself.
Kirk: Don't hook him up to the city! For God's sake don't do it! He's a leader, he's beautiful, and he's probably worth more than a few minutes of pleasure. At least 10 minutes worth judging by the length of the commercials. And he's not looking for a commitment if you're not, too. By all means do not hook him up to the machine!
McCoy: Everyone needs their own personal doctor. He's congenial when he's drinking those mint juleps, and as an Okie I appreciate a good Southern accent and gentlemanly manners. Ok..so he's a grouch alot of times, but he's sharp as a tack and I love to argue politely about a lot of topics so he's a keeper. So don't hook him up to the city!
Sulu: The character Sulu is a looker, he's good with a sword, and has a lovely speaking voice. And he seems to like Uhura now and then. But is that enough?...potential power source for the city.
Uhura: She's pretty and she can communicate, and she's nice. She'd make a nice friend to have...Don't hook her up to the city.
Scotty: We all need a good engineer. If my car breaks down that's who I want to fix it. He seems like he'd be great to be with at a party, he's a romantic and he's not adverse to entertaining himself with his technical engineer literature instead of asking you to entertain him. He has a lovely accent. I'm a sucker for a Scots or Irish accent. Don't hook him up to the city. Besides, if the city shuts down he can always get it to running again.
Chekov: Sorry fellas, but I just don't know why anyone would want to insert this character digitally anywhere except to be hooked up to the city. He's a braggert, he's whiney, and sometimes I don't think he's all that smart. He's a looker though..got to give him credit for that..but I think we've found our winner! But I think he's going to run out of juice after a couple of hours.

Now you think of who would make a great candidate for hook-up. Doesn't have to be a TOS character.

The Doctor! 900+ years old and let's not forget his 13 regenerations. Though possibly even if you could remove his brain his body will just regenerate around it.

I say hook up Scotty! We can all go to the nearest pub, get loaded on scotch and make complete arses out of ourselves by slobbering and falling over any green orion slave chicks and or saturnian harem girls dumb enough to get too close.
