This is Onyx:
Onyx is a 10 1/2 week old black lab mix. I've been thinking about getting another dog for a while, since our Murphy passed on almost two years ago now, and the doxie's are getting up there in years. Today we were at the pet store and they were having an adoption drive. I had no intention of getting a dog, but then I saw him. There was just this weird instant connection. I don't know why or how or what it was, but I knew I had to take him home.
I paid the mandatory fee for his adoption, but he won 't be allowed to come home with us until at least Thursday, since he has a possible ringworm infection in his paw, and the rescue person, Carol, who's fostering him, wants to make sure that he's not infectious. So by next weekend we will have a new member of our family.
I may not keep the name Onyx unless it sticks, but we'll figure out what to call him once he's here. I hope the "boys" get on with him, but I think they will, they got along so well with Murphy.
So what do you guys think? Am I crazy for doing this? |

Could be... ...j/k (about the crazy part). Onyx is looking sooo cute, he would be hard to resist. We had a Lab once upon a time, really friendly but loved to dig humongous holes in our back yard. He really needed a lot of room to run so we gave him to some friends who lived in Flagstaff, AZ and he had a great home there. I wish you much happiness with your new little friend, I don't think you'll have a dull moment either. |

Just looking at him... something tells me that he's no ordinary dog.
I think you're going to be happy you adopted him.
Keep us posted. |

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
What a sweet face!!!!!!
I was wondering if you would ever get another big dog after Murphy passed on...He looks like an inquizitive pup and he seems well behaved!!
Good idea on the foster mom's part on checking that infection on his foot..ring worm is nothing to fool with and it can make you miserable...
Why don't you and the girls put names in a hat that you all would want for him and then you pull the name out.
Cute little puppy
We got Beary to replace our Marshall a year after he died. We miss Marshall but Beary has the same quiet and fun loving personality that Marshall had and he's been great!

Just like rdb...I got the feeling this is someone you already KNOW....
and they've come back to you...I think you're gonna see the connection
by mannerisms...and also, how easily he is gonna listen to YOU, Steve...
If you're crazy...then I am completely commitable...call the men in the white coats ...I'm READY !!!!! |
