If it poops, pees, sheds, drools, wags it's tail, turns up it's nose at dogfood and begs for people food, hogs the bed, barks, yipes, scratches fleas, bites, licks odd places and then you, digs in the yard, and costs an arm and a leg at the vet then it's a dog, tries to chase cats and fight other dogs, and tries to sniff and be willing to be sniffed despite it's dinky size, then it's a dog. Not the size of the dog but the fight in the dog. |

Amen, Angel.
Maggie is now 5 months old and over 7 pounds. She meets and greets other dogs at the dog park and has the utmost respect, love, and adoration of her "big brother" who is a Standard Poodle.
I'd say she is a dog . . .

My JRT (Eddie) is 18 1/2 lbs.
Don't get on his wrong side.
Don't touch his toys, his dish, or the kids.
Don't mess with his blanket either. |

When my mother was alive, she had a Chihuahua and Manchester terrier mix named ChiChi. She was protective of my mother and her other dog who was much larger named Duchess (Belgian shepherd, collie and boxer mix).
Yep she could bite. |

Having had small dogs in my life, which my family has always prefered, it's never been my inclination to mistake a little dog for anything other than a dog, except as a fuzzy baby. |

This proud owner of a 10-lb Shih Tzu/Poodle mix says they do.
The Tanner? He's an uber-dog. |

Still....I'm partial to Rowlf.
Yeah, I know he's not a "real" dog...but he holds a special place in me heart. |

Well, our dog isn't a real dog. We have tried to tell him he's a pug, but having been raised with four cats, he believes himself to be part cat, part human. He's very confused....... |
