This May 19th will see what to me and a select number here in the U.K. is the 10th Kingdom of the Spiders day, which began on this date for personal reasons, but about which i have decided to spread the word!
Over the years i've managed to add something different to each little party, which sees us watch the classic Shatner flick and celebrate all-things William Shatner - and i thought that for this, the tenth, i should attempt to make it international...if just one person celebrates outside of the U.K. i will see the day as a success - and the next step will be it's becoming an internationally recognised holiday!
May 19th - remember that date, and keep your copy of K.O.T.S. handy... |

Welcome to the board C.T.
I promise I'll raise a glass to celebrate Kingdom Of The Spiders Day.
Does that help? |

Although I'm suffering from Arachnophobia, Kingdom of Spiders is the ONLY spiders film I'm willing and able to see through (guess why... ). I like your party idea, Cosmicthoughts, so I will join Chuck and raise a glass, too!
Here's to Bill's Kingdom!
Or, as Spock would say: "Excuse me, sir, there's a multi-legged creature on your shoulder." |

| That is so cool! I'd love to know more so Lene and I can talk about it on our "all things Shatner" podcast. If you don't mind, please send me an email at lookathisbutt@gmail.com. |

| I HATE SPIDERS! I don't care if Bill's in it I won't see it! And that's in accordance to the prophecy! |

That's too bad! Spiders in this case are quite frankly evil, and part of the film's beauty is the wanton and merciless destruction of said arachnids...
i actually find some parts difficult because no stunt spiders really manage to escape alive, so for a spider-hater this film is a joy! |

I know how you feel! Stomping on spiders is a good past time. Extra big clodhoppers are a must when indulging in this activity! Did you know if you kill a spider in the house it'll rain? Old wive's tale. And being an old wife I've seen it first hand!

| See, we all feel the terror! Kingdom of the Spiders servesas an example to us all...and if the tthe superstition is true, then it wouldn't have stopped raining around Mr.Shatners house until about 1984. |

It approaches, people...like so many champagne corks, those giant spider feet play across the dusty ground, heading ever nearer...with celebration comes terror unlike any you have ever known! Fortunately, Bill is on hand himself to save the day - and if anything can make me feel better about the impending doom, it's William Shatner.
Next Monday - it is time! |

Run for the hills! (Not the moving hills, they're filled with spiders) and not really that pleasant...Kingdom of the Spiders day, coming at you like so much tarantulaction you might just scream!
For those hundreds of you (one or two) who are game enough to join in the party, many thanks and my earnest wishes that you survive the onslaught...here's to the next 10 years! |
