We're A-ok! Glad to hear that your daughter is ok too! Very Happy Very Happy Had storms the night before and the night before that. Came a little close with the one about 5 days ago. Middle of the night stuff that really irritates me Mad Mad That happens alot and will happen all the way till June if we have an active season. Can't see them coming and have to rely on the radar on tv to see them. Only the lightning can show where they're at when they're close. The one that you're seeing in the news was in the town of Wanette, SE of here. I'm from Yukon. About probably 40 miles NE of Chickasha. We'd had some flooding, cars getting stalled out but other than that we're fine! Smile
That one 5 days before had my son in a panic in the middle of the night and he'd dragged his sister out of bed ready to stuff her in the closet just in case. We turned on the tv and saw that despite what was happening we didn't think it was much of a threat. Gotten good through the years at knowing that. We'd been so tired from multiple storms for the past couple of nights before that we just wanted to sleep! Twisters? What twisters? Just let us sleep! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I recently heard from someone who was living in the area of the tornado. They had minimal damage; however their power is out and will be for a couple of weeks at least. Some of the power lines and poles were ripped from the ground.

Shocked Shocked Wow! A couple of weeks without power? Must have hit a wide area for that to happen. That's a real bummer. Mom and Dad were without power from the icestorm last winter for almost two weeks and they sure didn't like it that's for sure! We've always been fairly lucky that nothing like that has ever made us lose power for weeks at a time. Days, but not weeks. Depending on the distances from the towns and the spread of the outages it can take weeks. And for some reason we've never had a direct hit from a tornado over here and thank the Good Lord for that one! Watch it happen this Spring! Confused Confused Probably jinxed myself, but for the past 19 yrs we've lived in this town it's never taken a hit. Like there's a protective bubble around it. Most of the storms seem to go around us, dissipate, or lessen in strength before they get too close. Could be all that praying I do Razz Razz Laughing Laughing Cool Two years ago I finally saw a tornado, all these years and hadn't seen one. It was about 8 miles to the west of us and we'd went chasing to see it. Since our girl was with us at the time we stayed every bit of those 8 miles away from it. I wanted to see it actually hit the ground but had to think of my girl's safety. I'd like to do some good chasing some day without the kids! Cool Cool
