I don't know how many people here are fans of the wonderful show Monk, but I was saddened to learn that Stanley Kamel died yesterday. I'm sorry to say that I haven't seen much of his other work, but since this show first came on I've always loved it and loved his character. He and Tony Shalhoub had so many wonderful scenes together, and I will really be missing that part of the show

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Stanley Kamel, well known for playing Dr. Charles Kroger on the hit USA series “Monk,” has died, Access Hollywood has learned.
Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday. He was 65.
Access Hollywood has learned Kamel died of a heart attack.
Kamel has appeared in numerous TV roles over the past three decades, including “The West Wing,” “Six Feet Under,” “Melrose Place,” “The Golden Girls,” “Days of Our Lives” and “Murder One.”
Pop culture fans will remember Kamel from his eight-episode arc in 1995 on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” as Tony Marchette, the father of Rebecca Gayheart’s character.
A rep for the USA network, which airs the Emmy-winning “Monk,” released the following statement to Access Hollywood:
“USA is deeply saddened by the news of Stanley Kamel’s passing. Stanley was an amazingly talented and extremely kind man, and an important member of the USA family. He will be sorely missed.”

We were shocked when I read and told my wife about this. There was nothing about cod in the article and nothing on any of the nightly news shows either.
Damned shame. |

First couple of seasons when Monk was on regular tv we enjoyed his character. So patient and harried at the same time with Monk's foibles. Truly sad. And 65 is too young. |

That is way to young of an age to die.
My Mom is a fan of Monk, I wonder if she has heard of this yet?
