Well ok, in actual fact the UK had an earthquake at 1am our time.

It was 5.3 on the Richter scale and it definitely woke me up! Shocked I have wind chimes in my window and they rattled like crazy, then the wardrobe doors and bed started to shake ! Shocked

Luckily, there has only been a small number of injuries and property damage. But the quake was felt throughout the Uk. We get about 20 quakes a year but most are so mild, we don't notice them. We seem to get one reasonably big one about every decade.

Hart

I hope everyone is OK over there. I saw the report on the news this morning.

Better feed that beast before those earthly tummy rumbles turn into roars. Wink

Felt it here too, seems the epicentre was in Hull. Lucky it was pretty mild here, compared to some of the places, where it has caused some real damage.

Lucky it it was not during the day, as well when people would have been out and about.

What about aftershocks?

Imagine a drunk guy staggering home from the pub when the quake starts. He's walking just fine now!

We all felt it at home but because it was so windy we assumed it was the wind rattling the windows.
But I remember vaguely the bed shaking and thinking that my husband was scratching his leg ( he gets a rash) and I was about to tell him to stop before he got sore when all went quiet . So I went back to sleep.
