I am pretty sure they are Multi format,( PAL and NTSC )and should automatically detect which T.V/Video format (PAL or NTSC) is being used,in a particular country, and adjust the picture accordingly . I am pretty sure they are Region 0 (Region free). So should work in any/all of these places. So pretty much most of the countries we have members here from for example, although they are ENGLISH language only,( sorry no subtitles )

I live in Region 1. That is why I am asking. | I take it that you live in either the U.S or Canada..? as long as you are in any of the NTSC/PAL countries listed above and as the disks are region free , they should work with no problems, although they are ENGLISH language only. |

I'm actually "young" enough to remember some of his episodes which were shown during the 4th Dr. years on alternative days.
I also was fortunate enough to meet him at a convention in NYC along with Sara but have long since lost the autographed photo.
to quote JTK: "it would be fun" |

Any chance for someone who wasn't lucky enough to see those shows when they were first airred to win them?
I want to see all the original DW - but can't afford to buy them all and the library system doesn't have them. |

UPDATE
I have also actually been able, to get my hands on some first Doctor (William Hartnell) shows from the 1960s these are also DVD complete episodes as well ( these are in Black and white ).
William Hartnell Dr Who-The Gunfighters ( 1966) run time approx 90 mins . Certificate PG
William Hartnell Dr Who- The Time Meddler (1965) run time approx 90 mins. Certificate U
William Hartnell Dr Who- The Sensorites (1964) run time approx 2.5 hrs. certificate U
So i would be happy to offer one of these as an alternative prize if some one prefers William Hartnell.
As i said though it depends on the level of interest in the competition.

What do we have to do, mate? | All you have to do is email me the answer to a (really easy) question related to either Jon Pertwees or William Hartnells Incarnation as Dr Who, ( depending on which prize you would prefer) .
Jon Pertwee prize
Q. What was the nickname of the yellow vintage car, Jon Pertwee often drove, during his time as the Third Doctor.?
William Hartnell prize
Q.Name the comedy actor who appeared as "The Monk" along side William Hartnell in The Time Meddler .
Please email me your answer ( please do not post your answers here)
classiccushing@hotmail.co.uk
please also state in the e-mail which Dvd title you would prefer, and which format PAL or NTSC (as shown on the above Countries list) you require.
Good Luck
The closing date is Wednesday 27th Feb. |

I sent my entry but realized that I didn't state which I wanted.
I don't care which I win since as far as classic Who goes I've only seen The Five Doctors and The Three Doctors. So as long as I get something that'll play on a USA DVD player that is classic Who so I can be "edumacated" on the Who-verse. |

So good luck to all of you that have entered. Although a couple of you did forget to tell me in your e-mail which DVD you would like should you be a winner |

Not to hijack the thread, but thank you very much for your concern. I am leaving Japan on the 7th, and have been flip-flopping back and forth about whether I should go to Burma or not. Anyway, I think I will try. My travel agent in Bangkok is going to try and arrange my visa. If it comes through (and I would be surprised), then I cannot see any reason why I should have difficulties there. I certainly will avoid anything that may cause my Burmese friends problems. |
