What started out as essentially a Christian holiday is now celebrated the world over -- with unique local twists and, sometimes, amid much resistance from hard-liners who want to defend traditional values from "Westernization."
A hot item in Japan this Valentine's Day? Edible chocolate creepy-crawlies made to look like real beetle larvae and caterpillars.
A northeastern province in Thailand has decided to turn away any couple who wants to file for divorce on Valentine's Day.
Worried about the economy, South Koreans are passing on expensive chocolates this Valentine's Day in favor of cheap candy from China.
When it comes to matters of the heart, many in South Africa believe some "muti" will help if you're lonely, lovesick or simply looking for a bit of fun, reports CNN's Robyn Curnow.
A hard-line Hindu political party has said it will have members patrol the central Indian city of Indore to ensure that couples don't engage in "any kind of vulgar display of their love" on February 14.
Gift shops and florists in Saudi Arabia have removed red items from their inventory until after Valentine's Day, because the country considers the celebration of such a holiday a sin.
On the downside: Be wary of virtual greeting cards that proclaim undying love showing up in your e-mail inbox on February 14. The FBI said the e-card actually could be the Storm Worm virus. Once you click on a link to retrieve the card, the virus downloads on to your computer hard drive and infects it -- kind of like the cyber equivalent of a sexually transmitted disease.
So, how do you celebrate? A lovely gift of bugs, vulgar displays of public affection, or is the whole thing a terrible sin? Just be careful you don't go picking up one of those sexually transmitted diseases this year, I mean the computer ones....... |

Wow, now that guy is truly the definition of a handyman in my view. He even came equipped with his own boxcutter to cut the tape. I mean, that is a boxcutter, er, nevermind......
Duct tape. It's not just for tying people up before you kill them anymore. |

OUCH! There's this radio station over here that does duct tape occasionally for prizes. They cover this intern w/ strips of duct tape with #s on them and the numbers correspond w/ prizes that callers are trying to win. That guy sure can scream! |

HOLEY MOLEY !!!! | I have glasses, I just never use them. I have lousy depth perception, stigmatism, and I'm far-sighted. I have to lean back pretty far to see the pictures clearly on the screen. Might explain why I didn't see his tool. But now that I've gotten a clear look at it..impressive, if it's real |

So true. Maybe I ought to be truthful, which would be refreshing for a change and say that I could do better at making time I'm just the laziest girl in town. |
