There's a reason that this poor turtle is on that post. It goes to a joke that my friend sent me about Obama. Think about it. |

I'm ok now. Needed to vent a bit. Let's just say that my boy has got a long row to hoe before it evens out for him. He's driving everyone here buggy. I've got a lot of patience but he's about used up my reserve of it. I'm so sorry for Hannah's troubles now and that's the last thing I would want for a child of mine to go through. My son makes me forget how he was my baby at times and I think he deliberately tries to make me forget that. It's God's plan as a friend says to me sometimes, but that doesn't mean that plan sits well with us right now. Sometimes makes me wish that human children matured as fast as baby gazelle so that they're on their own quicker. I just hope when all's said and done that we eventually are friends in his adult life, like I am with my parents. |

I suspect my mother and I will be at best intolerant of each other come this graduation ceremony on the 20th, because I'm going to severely restrict her freedom of speech around me, if she wishes to have a relationship with me...relax, I'll explain:
First off, those who've been here longer remember my post about my mother the criminal-activity advocate, who wanted me to fake out the Social Security folks and convince them that I was so severely disabled that I could not work (when nothing could be further from the truth); when I balked at the idea of getting money I wasn't entitled to, she did an end run around me and told a S.S.D.I. appeals-lawfirm about my (nonexistent) kidney disease, my near-paraplegic state (Yep...not able to walk, but I tap-dance like crazy), and my various-&-sundry other disabling conditions, all of which came as news to me when the lawyer told me I had these conditions. BTW, my "kidney disease" was kidneystones...I don't think they do dialysis for that.
Anyway, so Mom loves to make everything about her...if it's Joe Schmoe's birthday, it's not as important as the grievously torturous path she had to climb after her husband/my father divorced her in 1982 and died 15 years ago without leaving her a penny; the "mean, heartless S.O.B." left it instead to the woman he was married to at the time of his death (The FIEND!!!!). Well, GUESS who's coming to the graduation? Guess who wants me to dump my wife for a trophy wife?
Well, I've tried kindness and gentle words to get her to stop attacking a dead man, but whomever wrote Proverbs 15:1 ["A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."] never met my mom; so, if deviousness and noxious behavior are all she understands, so be it!
My wife made an error in judgement and kept me out of the loop as regards finances for about 6 months; this resulted in the car getting repossessed...because of my taking over, we got the car back and she learned a painful lesson that kicked her right in her pride; since then, Mom takes every opportunity to poke at Pat verbally, rubbing her nose in a mistake she already paid for.
If Mother pokes at either Dad or Pat, or tries to take over MY day, I will highly advise her (privately, of course) that if she wants to talk financial irresponsibility, well, I'm sure her current husband would love to check under the mattresses for unpaid credit card bills in Mom's name.
The cost of my silence?
Mother finds new stuff to talk about, and never attacks Dad or Pat again; some would call this blackmail, true...but as Bender said in Futurama, "Blackmail is such an ugly word; I prefer extortion...the "X" makes it sound cool."
It's way past time for her to move past this and get on with her life, don't you agree? |

I absolutely agree with you TC and I sympathize greatly . My grandmother from hell could be your mother's twin sister. Why there are people like this I don't know except for the fact that it takes all kinds to make this earth go around and unfortunately we have to breath the same air as they do and at the same time hope we don't for long. My boy got some of those egotistical genes from my gramma. I pray that they alter as he grows into adulthood because I do love him with all my heart. He's almost 18 and ye Gods! Peace be with you always and your lady. May you always find joy in life away from your mom and that she goes on her merry way to let you do so. |

For all you good, kind, and patient people out there who have to suffer the torment of unbelievably bad relatives, I give you this picture. I know what your going through, I know your pain, I feel your anger and your frustation. "Spankyou" for just being you! Now pretend that naughty, naughty, bunny is the one you love to be angry with! Take it out on the bunny, take it out on the bunny! Only the bunny, the only oney! And now breath, breath, breath! Count to ten....One mississippi, two mississippi, three mississippi.....feel better now? I knew you would! I feel better already, too!

Good heavens to mergatroyd...... I AM NOT going to do that with my relatives.... we have laws against incest in this state!
I'll just swear at them under my breath, and wait for Santa to put coal in their stockings, (which is better than what he appears to be putting in the bunny......) Ooohhh, I'm a bad girl......... |

Pretending is all part of the fun, though personally that loving family gesture is beyond me, too. Yargh! The picture does make me feel immensely better though! |
