Horror Express (1973)

"An English anthropologist, Professor Saxton (Christopher Lee) has discovered a frozen monster in the wastes of Manchuria, which he believes may be the Missing Link. Saxton plans to bring the creature back to Europe aboard a trans-Siberian express train.Once aboard, he and Dr Wells, ( Peter Cushing), discover the monster has thawed out, and it starts to butcher the passengers one by one."

I LOVE Horror Express !!!!!!!!

First time I ever seen it was back in the early 80's.

My local department store had a $1.00 VHS bin and Horror Express was in it.
BEST buck I ever spent.

GREAT movie Smile

BTW, was that a Hammer ?
It felt very Hammery.

No it was not made by Hammer, although it did feature the two Hammer studios leading actors. It was made in Spain, directed by Eugenio Martín Did you spot the mistake right at the start of the movie ?

Speaking of Hammer or Hammerish English horror, britstarfan ... can you help me title these two movies ?

I haven't seen them since the 70's when they were played on my local TV station's Saturday night horror theatre......
I'd like to get them on DVD (if they're available)

All I remember was........

Movie-1.
Maybe Peter Cushing was the star....
They find a giant skeleton --- but DON'T let water touch it.
If so, it grows into being a monster.

Movie-2
All I remember is stone arms coming out from the ground everywhere on an estate-- like statues.
The movie explains why these arms are there.

I would say number 1 was the following movie made by TIGON ( one of Hammers rivals).

The Creeping Flesh 1973

"A Victorian-age scientist returns to London with his paleontological bag-of-bones discovery from Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, when exposed to water, flesh returns to the bones unleashing a malevolent being on the scientist's family and friends"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068424/

movie 2, possibly..?

The Gorgon (1964)

"In early-twentieth-century middle-Europe, villagers are literally becoming petrified. Although the authorities try to hush the matter up it is apparent that at the full moon, Medusa leaves her castle lair and anyone looking on her face is turned to stone. When this fate befalls a visitor, experts from the University of Leipzig arrive to try and get to the bottom of it all"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058155/

But not 100% sure without more info , and i think i am right in saying this one was a Hammer film. Wink

----------------------------------------------------------
One of my personal favorite, Peter Cushing movies is this one

Island of Terror (1966)

"Island of Terror follows the story of a doctor who unwittingly creates a barrage of seemingly indestructible monsters while trying to find a cure for cancer"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060548/

In the opening credits on some of the English-language versions, Christopher Lee's name is misspelled as "Cristopher".
