I'm not into the whole "Greek" thing. I've heard it's a real pain in the butt.

The Lord of the Rings is a favorite of mine as well. Have been since an older brother gave them to me at 13. I didn’t list them cause it never occurred to me that they were Geeky!

I just watched the three movies again over a two day period two weeks ago. It was the first time I'd seen them since they came out on DVD (thought I've owned them for years.) They were even better then I recalled. I noticed many subtle undertones, things I didn't catch in the theater or even when reading the books (ok that was 30 years ago - so I may have forgotten...)

Most striking was Frodo's need to believe (for personal reasons) that there was still good in Gollum, I had never really picked up on that before.

I was just so irritated by how blind Frodo was to Gollum's motives that I never saw the why...

Oh well - great flicks!

I've noticed that I also pick up on new things each time I see the movies. You're right, great flicks.

I noticed that you shared a couple of other favorites of mine as well, the Pink Panther movies, and also Galaxy Quest, although I ran out of room before I could list that one.
