Did anyone else see this show tonight on ABC? It's given me a good idea for something I'm going through.

I bought a set of living room furniture from Macy's almost two years ago. It's leather, really good looking, soft leather, and I was told by the salesperson that by buying the extended warranty that everything would be covered for 5 years, whether it was the kids or the dogs or forces of nature caused a problem with the furniture, it would be replaced, no questions asked.

Well, about 6 months after it was delivered, the club chair started to discolor on one arm, and then I noticed cracks in the leather cushions on the couch. The recliner however, looks exactly the way it did the day it was delivered. The couch and the club chair have increasingly become worse, and within a year or two I'll have to replace both pieces. So I called the number on the warranty contract, and without even coming out to look at the furniture, I was told that the warranty didn't cover manufacturers defects, and that's what I was dealing with. Funny, the sales guy didn't bother to mention that when he was selling me this $5,000.00 set, nor did he mention that by taking out the pricey, extended warranty, I wasn't completely covered, as he expressed that I would be, over and over in his sales pitch.

So tonight I saw a way to remedy all this. Apparently people are getting fed up with the bull and doing something about these retailers that sell faulty merchandise. They are going on YouTube, posting their grievances via video, and connecting the video's to Consumerist.com. I'm really considering doing this, since I don't see any other way to get Macy's to take responsibilty for selling me very expensive, faulty furniture.

So what do you think? I really felt great after seeing this show, like I finally had a way to make Macy's take notice. This situation has really been pissing me off, since it took time to save up for the furniture, and I thought I would have this set for a very long time.

So do you have a consumer nightmare? Could this be the right way to handle situations like this, when the retailer won't even hear you, and you have nowhere else to turn except the legal system, which could end up costing you more than the product? What do you think?

The sqaueaky wheel got my grease on my TV service that I had called them about. Due to a mistake that I had no control over I was being charged for downloads of PPV (3 of them!) on my TV I didn't order. To make a LONG story short I kept complaining via emails and phone calls and I finally had the charges wiped off my bill plus they told me how to block the services that I wish they had 3 months earlier. Would of saved me some money and grief and they better read their policies again .

If I was you CaptJTK I'd let every YouTuber know what had happened to your stuff!
