I couldn’t have said it better. In the early 1970s I went to Saudi Arabia to teach computer theory to the Saudi Army. When I left the States there were three channels of good television to choose from. I returned to the U.S. twenty years later to find more than 60 channels of pure garbage. I almost quit watching TV altogether but then I found TVland. It became my one and only channel. Twenty Four hours of good clean thirty minute sitcoms that were actually humorous. The opposite of what ABC, NBC, and CBS has been feeding the viewing public disguised as SitComs. TVland was a breath of fresh air in a television world smelling of decay. Now that TVland has decided to take today’s run-of-the-mill programming approach, the stench is becoming unbearable. |
