I know maintanace is carried out and I cant remember it being cracked while being photographed there.
Is there something that can be done ???
I noticed the image, in I miss Daisy Thread posted by Angel.

A nice shot of Bill`s cracked star. If they ever repair it this image will be a real collecter`s item. |

| Just remember..they often have the "Star" pay for their star....so We may need to have a fund for repair....I've seen some of the repairs and a kid could do better. |

| My understanding is the 'stars' dont pay themselves, fans do. Im sending my email and am heading out there in a cpl of weeks - do you know where his is located and I'll check it out! |

My post may seem silly to some of you, but keep in mind that I have never been to California and have never experienced an earthquake or even a tremor.
Have any of the stars been severely damaged by earthquakes in the past?
What happens when there is construction going on? Are the stars temporarily removed and replace later after the construction has been completed?
I would be willing to send whatever I can to get the star repaired. I would want to make sure that there was someone on the other end who can see to it that the money goes to the right people and that they do the job we are paying them for. |

I'm sure it is a mix of mother nature and the amount of people walking up and down the walk of fame. Personally, I don't step on the stars, I find it to be a little disrespectful. Thats just me though.

Yes ground movement causes most of it...and dependant on how well it was "set" in the first place. MANY stars have to pay for their own STAR...though it is usually a fund to do it. When there is construction, they remove and reset them. Sometimes they just use a colored "filler" in the cracks...and well, it sometimes looks like when a kid glues Grandmas Teapot back together hoping to not be caught  |

I read on a site that when they pay for the star this money or part of it is for maintenance. the movement would be from the traffic on them and the tremors. but it should be fixed if water gets under it it will be a disaster.
And Bill is very special. The Star Should look at its best.
I too found myself not walking on the stars. Lot of ghosts down that boulevard.
