Here we go again! Alice is having her birthday party tonight, and I am so outmanned! At the moment I have 5 ten & eleven year olds here, along with Bridget and her friend (2 thirteen year olds) and Mary (16). 8 girls, what was I thinking?
For those of you that like pics, here's the party preparations from earlier. Can you guess the theme?
I carved this in high school and the kids found it in the cellar....
Sorry if I'm boring you with all the pics as of late. Some of you don't seem to mind.
Diana & Mary, if you see this, I doubt very much I'll get the chance to be on IM tonight, but tomorrow I'm going to need to talk to adults!
BTW, do any of you know a good way to melt chocolate for fondu? Fondu???
Pray I survive the night....... |

Ok every body at the top of yer lungs:
WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!! YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!! YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!
I'll be on tomorrow Steve if you need rescuing!!
A good way to melt chocolate chips for fondue that i do is on the stove or in the microwave.. I use 1 large bag of Hersheys chocolate chips 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 cup light cream or half & half.
Put it in a microwavable bowl and do it at high setting at 30 second intervals stirring in between to mix and distribute the heat evenly. Then re heat as needed to keep it soft.
Over the stove, mix it together and heat over low heat stirring constantly till the chips are melted, and the mix is hot. Pour into a fondue warmer or keep microwaving it till it stays warm as needed. eat with fruit pieces, marshamllows, graham crackers broken into pieces..Store covered in the fridge when done.
hope this helps and will be praying for you tonight!!!

Thanks Diana, melting chocolate as we speak. The kids are watching HELP, and they like the movie! I bought it on DVD when it came out, and they think it's great.....who knew 10 year olds would be into the Beatles, little do they know that Paul is now old enough to be their grandfather.
Tie die and lava lamps, college again?
Alice opens presents.
About to go into sugar overload.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. |

LOL!!!!!
Sammy want's a tye dyed shirt and a lava lamp now and she loves the letter "A" that Alice got....Looks like Alice is having a fun party.
be careful with the chocolate that you don't burn it...
i've seenthe movie "Help" but not all the way through...I remember the Beatles cartoon on the weekends that me and my brother used to watch....I always liked Ringo..he was always laid back...I also like Paul McCartneys version of "Live And Let Die" from the 007 movie of the same name...any way I can get a copy of that version of his song....
Have fun Steve and see you tomorrow.

The funniest thing tonight was this little girl, Stella. She came in with her braids, but then once she was in the house, she comes out with a an afro! Her mom told her if she was going to a 60's party she better look the part, and her mom bought her the afro.
Sorry the pics aren't that good, I took most of them with my cell camera.
These kids are so funny...
It's almost midnight, I've got Nat King Cole on the stereo, and they are fading fast, good for me. Winding down here, TG.
I think I'm going to survive. |

Never getting tired of your pictures Steve
Your girls are so lucky to have you for a dad !
Maybe no one said it before, but you did a FANTASTIC job as a single dad to raise 3 girls all on your own !!!!
So....HUGS to you and the girls |

Oh the joys of Fatherhood! Especially when you have girls.
So, tell us, did you and the girls put on some Beatles toons and cut the rug? |

You know it!
They just finished breakfast, got their stuff together, and are watching HELP again! This is all new to them, they love it. I wish I had Yellow Submarine on DVD.
As for the super dad thing, I think it's more survival than being super....
Darn I'm tired, 4 hours of sleep is inhumane.
It was fun though, thanks for all the nice compliments. |

4 hours of sleep is better than one, as that is all Samantha got at her last sleep over at the church youth girls night.
sounds like you all had a good time (Got any chocolate left?)
Go get some sleep later in a nap and hopefully we can visit tonight on the IM.
