| For those interested, here is a link to my new photography from Cambodia on my most recent trip. Unfortunately, I was distracted by other things, so my photography was not as much of a focus (no pun intended) on this trip. Anyhow, distractions or not, I think I managed to get about six decent shots for the portfolio. Many will be censored, when I add them to my own website. For now, you can look at the good and the bad at Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26836608@N00/sets/72157601651471187/ |

Those are incredible pictures, Harry. You sell your talents short. I loved the ancient statuary surrounded by the jungle canopy. The tree roots covering that ancient temple is really amazing. Thankyou for sharing your pictures with us. |

| Those are some mighty impressive photos Harry. May I ask? Exactly what does, "churning the ocean of milk," mean? |

Thanks Sue, for the kind comments. Here's a crash course in Hindu mythology: http://www.sacred-texts.com/etc/omw/omw64.htm |

Thank-you for posting the link to the photos, Harry. They are really impressive. But the last one, of the little girl is the one I found the most moving.
On Thursday my older daughter came back from Uganda where she had been teaching for the last month.
She taught in three schools. Two in the countryside and the last school was in the shantyville in Kampala. The children in all schools were very enthusiastic about their lessons.

Thanks Harry and Claudia for posting those links. Isn't it wonderful how we can travel and interact with people from countries that get so little coverage in the West?
Loved your pphotos Harry, even though the ones of the anxious children made me very sad... |

Hi Sue!
Yes , some of Harry's photos do bring tears to the eyes. I don't think words are adequate to describe the feeling that overwhelmes us when witnessing such deprivation.
I don't know where my big girl is going to teach next. England? she has to do her initial teaching year at some point, but the traveling bug is there, waiting, and I think that her teaching experience in Uganda has made her even more determined to go and teach outside England some other time.
We'll see.....
Cheers,
Claudia |

Hi Harry...Just went through all your pictures. There are so many abandoned temples...wonder how old they are. Was interesting to see the begging children dressed in western clothing and neat looking haircuts...but sad to see them begging. Also sad was the white flower on the 'torture bed'...I pick as the winning picture the sweet smiling little Cambodian girl Thank you for posting these, it gives one a snap shot of their life. |
