Been caring for my brother Paul's dog, Ali, while he and his girlfriend are away. Ali, as many of you know, is a year old Yorkie. She will not leave poor Audrey alone. Audrey is 14, deaf, blind, and in cronic pain from arthrtis despite the medication. Ali keeps pouncing on her, nipping her ears, chasing her around. Audrey is so insecure she lets this pipsqueak boss her around. When I show Audrey extra affection Ali gets jealous.
I tell you, I can't take much more of this. Thank God he's coming back home tomorrow to take this little monster back! |

| Jami too bad you couldn't have two separate rooms for them...Ali at 1 years old is full of vim and vigor and wants to play...your Audrey, God Bless her, just needs peace and quiet...they are too many years apart to enjoy each other. I can understand your concern about it all...Babysitting can be stressful! |

I wish I could keep them seperated. Luckily, Ali seems to realize my bed is Audrey's territory. So when I put Audrey up there Ali leaves her alone for the most part.
Audrey will feel much better with Ali gone. You should see her walk around with her head hanging. You'd think she suddenly took on all my poor self esteem issues. |

YES! ALI IS HOME! AUDREY CAN REST!
Today was the WORST. Ali pounced on her every time.
And everyone else thinks it's funny, but I think it's cruel, whenever there was food on the floor when Audrey would get close to it (she's blind so it requires a lot of sniffing to find it) Ali would take it from her. She even took a treat I gave Audrey even though she had one of her own. |

I think you're quite right!
As alpha of your house, should you have to dog-sit again, I would definitely make sure your dog eats first, and is not hassled. Either go "dog whisperer" on the pup's fuzzy butt, or contain her somehow.
It may help a bit, as the alpha dogs always eat first!
And definitely get after her for harassing your dog. Many dogs give out a "puppy license" for the first five months, but after that it's all about learning your P's and Q's in dogdom, not harassing others and being polite doggy-style.
Your dog doesn't sound like she is physically able to take on the responsibility, so you'd probably have to for her. I'm certain she'd thank you for it if she was able! |

Having a 10 month-old pup, I can sympathize with poor Audrey.
We went to visit my sis -in -law who has an old female dog. Although our dog didn't jump at her he tried to follow her, sniff, etc... Fortunately my younger daughter kept him busy playing so he left the old dog alone.
And she did growl at him a couple of times to tell him off.
But pups can be a nuisance to older dogs.
They are like annoying kids....

NOT funny. Animal abusers like him should be made to feel the horrors those poor animals went through. |

Michael Vick should loose his dick!
Oops! Sorry, it just came out of me.
He should be forced to clean kennel cages for the rest of his life and never be allowed to play sports again. |

| I'll tell you one good thing in all this. Ali is pad-broken. Which leads to a stinky house. However every time I took Audrey out, I'd take Ali out. Audrey goes potty right away. Even though she's deaf I still say "Good girl Audrey." Ali would watch this and go outside because she wanted that praise too. Between the last time I cared for her and this time, she's stopped using pads. She only wants to go outside like Audrey. |
