We got slammed last night. It had dumped on Texas and now us in Okie land. We're flooded really bad in some places. I haven't gone in to town yet, but I'm sure it was bad. We had tornada warnings all night. There were hurricane winds all night too. And there's another one named Dean heading towards the Gulf. Gonna be a big hurricane. I hope my brother weathers it well. He lives in Port Aransas. We live 600 miles from the ocean and we can be affected by this stuff.

I saw on the weather channel that there was some terrible flooding, even in areas that don't normaly have a problem.
You guys be careful, and try to stay dry. I pray Dean misses the coast completely, or at least loses it's strength. |

Wow! I hope you and your family are Ok Angel. I almost forgot that you were in the path of it.
We are watching Dean closely too. Once in the Gulf, it could very well do a wide angle turn and come our way, but if it doesn't, I hope you all hunker down and weather through it with minimal damage.
That reminds me. I guess I better go to My Space and check on Patti. |

Thanks, Ladies We're ok. I called Mama and Daddy and their phone service is still working so I imagine they're ok. I'll probably hear from them later. My brother-in-law's land is near where a lot of the tornada damage is and I hope that his trailer is ok. He lives close to us though. Just some land that he likes to go hunt on and get away from the family for a while. There are some people that I know who's probably got a lot of flood waters around them. They go to my church. I hope they're going to be ok. I was afraid to go into town today, but I'm sure our drainage system is working good. The flooding is wide spread and now worse than ever because of the flooding we had during the spring and summer. We'd also had a tremendous amount of ice melt off from an icestorm las winter. I guess we won't have to worry about water reserves for the next 3 yrs. Like Cat said the flooding here isn't normal at all in some places. I'd prayed for rain and a bit of storms because it'd been dry and I like a bit of excitement. Well, it came. Last time I prayed for rain we got the May 3rd, 1999 F5 twister. Sheesh! Hoping that Dean stears clear of you too, Sue Marie. They're saying on the news that the rainfall from that one may be less than last night, but I wouldn't bet on it. |
