Thanks Paul.
Question: Why are the ShatnerVision clips so short?

Usually ShatnerVision clips are anywhere from 1 to 3 mins in length due to the fact that if they were longer people wouldn't watch them.

I know the true blue fans would love to see 10-15 mins or more of video on Bill at one sitting but as they say...the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and the majority of people will only watch a couple mins before surfing away.

In other words, folks get downright bored within those first few minutes.

Paul,
Have you considered offering the lengthier versions elsewhere on the site, either Shatnervision or here, for those fans who can forestall their non-decafmochalattestraightcolumbianespresso shot so they can sit still for 10 minutes?

The longer the time; the bigger the file size so a 2 min file usually runs 30-40 MBs so a 15 min film would be several hundred MB's and bandwidth issues then come into play.

LiveVideo and YouTube have limits on file size that would make it impossible to host on those sites.

That being said, we are looking into maybe DVD's or doing something else with the footage we shot (as you can imagine we have a LOT of excess footage as I usually shoot as long as possible - sometimes for several hours.)

Keep tuned.

I'd read that typically BL shoots 30 hours of film for each episode, so I can indeed imagine what you have sitting around! Staying tuned indeed.
