Scheduled to attend:
David E. Kelley, Bill D’Elia, James Spader, John Larroquette, Christian Clemenson, Candice Bergen and William Shatner.
Sandy, Jane and I will be there so you'll get some great coverage and I'll be on the Red Carpet trying to get some gems.

I'm wondering who was the first to mention HS Musical last night. Spader and CLemenson both have kids, I know Spader has one who's 14ish, and it was THE place to be last night - if you werent scheduled to be at the Writers Guild Theatre, that is, lol.
Paul, I keep meaning to say, Im beluga, co-mod over on the BL.org board. |

Sorry, I went out last night after the event and got home late.
The line for the event went up the street and around the corner - it was crazy. Tons of people who waited in line for a couple hours got turned away.
I arrived at 6 and had to wait 45 mins to get in for the press. I renewed some old acquaintances with some of the reporters covering the event. The guy who Bill starred with in the Extra TV paparazzi spoof I covered in March was there and he came up to say hello and we chatted for a bit. He's one of the reporters covering red carpet events for Extra Television. And a couple of the ABC PR folks I knew from covering various events for Bill.
Then there were this group of fans right at the front of the line who thought I was someone famous and they sent this wonderful older woman over to ask me to come meet them. I was telling the woman "No I'm not that guy" (I can't even remember who she thought I was) and I could see 20 frowns on faces thinking "awww...he won't come over" I had to tell them I'm not him. It was one of those bizarre moments.
So about 6:45 I was let in to take my place on the red carpet right next to ABC.com and Fox News was on the other side of me. Jane from the fan club managed to get in (they gave her a hassle and then came over to ask me if she was with me - she finally got in) she took stills which I can't wait to see.
Christian Clemenson was the first person I got; I asked him a bunch of questions (even though I was supposed to keep it to one or two) He was on a roll and nobody else was waiting so I went for it.
I got one question in for Candice - she laughed when I told her where I was from (Bill's official website) Then I got to meet Ariana Huffington who was fascinated by the concept of Shatnervision. She blogs on her site (HuffingtonPost.com) so the idea of vlogging (video blogging) is something that probably struck a familiar chord and also because it's Bill Shatner who is doing it.
Ariana pulled into the conversation David E. Kelley and I had the two of them in a convo. I asked them one question each (figuring don't press your luck) Ariana's was about how tough was she going to be on the questions for the panel (she's known for being relentless) and David's question was about the character of Denny Crane - is it based on people that he knew from his days as a lawyer in Boston.
Right after that I got Bill and asked him if he was worried about the questions tonight because I had just spoken with Ariana who told me they were going to be tough. Then I got a brief (and I gotta tell you b-r-i-e-f) question answered by James Spader (it was like 5 words) and then I got to speak to John Larroquette and I told him about the ShatnerVision videos on him being too tall. He also told me about being in Star Trek III (which I wasn't even going to go to but he brought it up so I was pleased.)
As for what happened during the panel itself there's a great article posted at Huffington Post here.
I'm going to try to get this footage up right away since it's timely. |

[color=blue]Thanks Paul! I still can't wait to see all the footage! I guess someone had to let you know that the Huffington Post thing doesn't work? I saw that you changed your post
Oh, I can't wait until the Emmys! All of this publicity makes it even more exciting and I can't wait to see what David E. Kelly has up his sleeve for the 4th season!
People on the ABC message boards are saying that there might be a musical episode in the works, since I've heard that Kelly's wife enjoys musicals and Broadway. Wouldn't that be awesome?!
Denny singing 'Money for Nothing' and snips of 'I'm Too Sexy'
Alan singing 'The Joker' and 'The Winner Takes All'
Shirley singing 'Barracuda'
Oddly enough, I could really see Denny Crane singing 'Hungry Like the Wolf'
I was right, the website huffingtonpost.com works, I wasn't sure which article to click on |

LOL
Oh my gosh! This is funny! Clemenson and Spader went to high school together? Shatner is such a showman and is really funny! Larroquette 'involved' with Candice Bergen?! |

There is a mini snippet on the ABC website greeting Laroquette, Burrows and Clemenson. Ive not seen Paul, so wouldnt know him if he were standing behind Saffron holding up a sprig of parsley, but there ARE people in behind them. Can anyone spot Paul or a familiar face there?

| Saw the video on Shatnervision, the red carpet can be intimidating Id imagine, but Paul geez there you are chatting up Arianna Huffington, and getting WS to joke about her answering her own questions. Does he think any differently of her since the Zeus reference? |
