Did you wonder if associating Bill with "conspiracy" and "a very pro-active campaign of deception" was as low as the yellow press would go?
Now Bill is accused of appearing drunk onstage in Vegas, and is called a "drunken old goat", by a reporter named "Bourne" at Holy Moly (which has a higher web-traffic rank than most big Trek sites)...
Set Phasers To Rant: William Shatner Makes Drunken Appearance at Star Trek Convention
With 'Lost' creator JJ Abrams readying himself to steer the Starship Enterprise towards the eleventh instalment of the Star Trek film franchise, geeks everywhere are looking at the prospect of having giant polar bears crashing through grassy planets. But they're unlikely to see the reappearance of Captain James T Kirk.
As the Americans would say, William Shatner is 'pissed' about this. He is also, it would appear, fairly pissed in the British sense of the word.
Appearing at a recent Star Trek convention in Las Vegas -- about as appealing a prospect as going to Glastonbury only to find yourself trapped in a maths class -- Shatner ranted and rambled at the assembled dweebs.
One attendee, talking to the New York Daily News' Gatecrasher, explained: "We had our picture taken with William Shatner and he was so [addled -- Gatecrasher politely says] and red of face that his eyes were watering."
Shatner whinged to the assembled dorks about the new director and not being cast, even though Leonard Nimoy, sat next to him, had been. He then proceeded, like a pub drunk whose attention is easily swayed, to go completely off topic.
"In his manic stream," said one rubber ear-wearing nerd, "he also related a road-rage incident he had en route to the conference where he got out of the car to confront a driver while saying, 'I am Captain Kirk, I am Captain Kirk!'"
That'll be why you've not been cast, Bill. Hollywood has enough to cope with, what with Lindsay Lohan and co, without adding a drunken old goat like you to its troubles.

We taped the entire Leonard and Bill monologues and dialogues in Vegas. I'll get them into the editing bay and start posting them.
People are going to report what they want. It's the power of the press; yellow or not.
You can't come out and say "No, he wasn't" because it just becomes a war of words where you are portrayed as the spin doctor. The only thing that some people are going to remember is the sensationalized version anyways. The best way is just to promote the hell out of the videos we have shot of the event. |

[color=blue]Oh Paul! Hurry up! Time is fleeting!
Really? A reporter calling Bill an 'old goat'! I don't think he eats tin cans and grass. Even so, that was really dispicable and mean. How would you feel if you had this big convention (in Vegas no less) and you weren't even so much as cast in the movie yet? You're hanging around, you're just hanging around and waiting to be made fun of. You don't really connect with the other actors (except Nimoy who seemingly understands) because you don't even have a part. It's like Bill is rallying for himself.
I could understand with the whole 'road rage' thing but we all know how Bill is sometimes. He can sometimes come across as this 'arrogant' tough man who really is the sweetest guy. I think he just does it to be funny and not to upset fans. But if he was drunk, come on, it's Vegas! |

In an interview with Jonathan Frakes by Canada's Sun Media news network...
As bittersweet as it may be on the sidelines, Jonathan Frakes has been keenly interested in the progress of the upcoming Star Trek movie.
In it, Zachary Quinto (the villain Sylar on Heroes) will play the young Spock. J.J. Abrams (Lost, Mission: Impossible 3) will direct.
"I absolutely am following it," says Frakes, one of the stars of Star Trek: TNG. "I don't know how others are feeling, but I'm absolutely optimistic. I'm a huge fan of Lost and I think J.J. Abrams is a great storyteller.
"I gather from what people tell me, he's approaching it with respect and honour for the original franchise. He's got (William) Shatner and Nimoy on board, and this kid from Heroes I think is a wonderful actor."

| Somebody ought to give drug and sobriety tests to the paramount studio executive heirarchy. |

Nimoy drinking Coca-Cola and Shatner drinking Sprite and Perrier! Classic! Is it just me or do Bill's shirts seem to get brighter and brighter? |
