All went well, except for the part where they gave me Vicodin on an empty stomach. Made my arms and legs like rubber bands, so I could barely make it up the front steps to my house. Thank God mom, the neighbor, and the mailman were there!!! Mom was in front guiding me, the mailman and neighbor had their hands on my back so I didn't fall backwards!!! Then I felt like I was going to puke all night--even after I ate. I stuck mostly to popsicles--they cure almost everything!!! Laughing

Did much better today. They have me on this contraption to keep my leg moving so it doesn't get too stiff on me--not a good thing. I'm up to an 80 degree angle already. I can keep food down too. No more Vicodin. I'm sticking with the Motrin 800. I have a very high threshhold of pain, so it's not really that bad.

I am even walking on it--with crutches (just in case), and, of course, a knee stabilizer brace. It's the kind with dials so they can adjust it to actually bend back and forth when I'm ready. I will probably start actual therapy Monday or Tuesday--haven't made any appointments just yet. I need to call Monday.

And how has your weekend been??? Shocked

Excepts for the not so funny bits, I'm glad to see you up and about vampyregirl. Take care of yourself and make that appointment.

My weekend has been pretty much ho hum except for having off today. Tomorrow I start training at the service desk where I work. Beats working on the registers all the time on my shifts.

Glad to hear your surgery went well Vampyregirl!

I refused Vicodin after my surgery on my eye for that reason, it makes me sick! The Tylenol 500's worked for me and I am doing much better this week and I can see pretty good out of my left eye. Just have to have the stitches out on Wed. so no more itching!

Did you have a big inscision and a lot of stitches too?

Hope you can have therapy soon so the knee doesent freeze up there. But please be careful on the crutches, we don't want a report about you falling down!

DianaG

Thanks everybody!!! I got to take an "almost" shower tonight. I put a Rubbermaid stool (with rubber feet on it) in the tub and sat on it.

I have decided that I'm going to have to shut the puppy out of the bathroom tomorrow night!!! She absolutely loves to jump into the tub/shower with me. It was not easy having her in there with a seat, and trying to keep her off of my leg in the melee!!! What a mess. Then she watered up the tile floor--not a good thing!!! No, I didn't fall....thank God!!! I would have cried if that had happened.....a lot....

Glad to hear you're doing so good DianaG!!! I usually don't react like that to Vicodin. I think it was just the empty tummy thing.

I actually made it around the yard to pick up "puppy bombs" this afternoon. I just can't get into letting other folks do stuff for me. I'm waaaay too independent!!! I did, however, let my dad take out the garbage. That would have been just too much on my leg.

My parents are just awesome... Very Happy Just had to say that. You never know whom you can count on until something goofy like this happens....

My dad gets to take Mollie to the vet in the morning. She had her dew claws removed when she got fixed. One of her sisters popped a stitch, and it got all infected. It looks really good, but she will not leave any bandages alone!!! Even with the cone on!!!! She's left her leg alone all day -- unbandaged -- and it's looking great. Hopefully, they won't try to re-wrap her. It's a futile effort on everyone's part. She takes her meds and leaves it alone. The nasty sister is out of town until next Sunday (at least), and my parents' dog (another sister) leaves her leg alone, so they can play together. Animals......and their dumb owners!!! I'm not going to let her play with the neighbors' dog for a while yet. At least until her leg is completely healed. That puppy has some issues that the owners need to resolve before she bites a kid (the woman babysits in her home). Oh well.....what can you do.....
