I think Joaquin Phoenix would be a good choice to play Christopher Pike in Star Trek XI if the character features as he bears a strong resemblence to Jeffrey Hunter. Anyone else agree?

Maybe, He did a really brilliant acting job in Walk the Line but I don't know if he'd be right in the spacey starship setting I think he does much better with raw cut roles

I've always thought of Capt Pike as "raw" anyway And he could look good as a Starship Captain. With loads of make up Laughing

He would definitely add an intense humanity to the role... I think I wouldn't mind him playing Pike at all.

I thought that his performance in Walk the Line was OK, a bit over down, esp. with that shoulder action of his. It made him looked pained.

As Pike, he could do a good job as long as he doesn't over act.

He did a great job playing creepy Caligula in Gladiator and I loved his character in the movie Signs. I think he'd be a good Pike.
