I must say, James' character is right up there with Bill's. Of course, the whole reason why I started watching BL was because of Bill, but I've grown fond of James also. Denny will always be my favorite character. Amazing cast, I must say.

SHATNER IS KIRK...KIROK...LOL...AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN! AT LEAST FOR ME.
Watching the Star Trek TOS episodes made me cry today, just knowing that our Shatner will not be in the STXI movie, because he tried so hard to make Kirk work and appeal to audiences. How can JJ Abrams stand there and say that he holds Star Trek very dear to his heart and then NOT include the very heart of the show, i.e., Shatner? I know that casting him would be hard, as he's already dead, but, for the love of God, JJ, just don't stand there and push Bill to the side...! |

I pray you are doing a parody. If so,
If not, just remember one thing: it's just a freakin' movie. |

Parody? No, this is real I think I'm having a coniption fit because I have to wait so long for the movie to come out and to make it worse, all the actors they pick for roles are not very worthy of the parts, excluding Mr. Nimoy, of course. Case in point: Tom Cruise as Captain Christopher Pike rumors surfacing now |

How did a 17 year old become so involved in this Shatner Kirk buisness?
Well, I always used to watch TNG with my dad and brother growing up and it kind of stuck with me over the years but as I grew older and very recently I was looking to explore the other shows such as TOS and I REALLY liked it so it's just there And I don't think anyone can do what Kirk has done He beat the system AND he is a really amazing actor
But HHB has brought up a good point in my Chekov thread: Maybe we enjoy the actors behind the characters and that is why we watch It is why we all post on BILL SHATNER'S forum instead of some TOS forum out in the middle of cyberspace
But, unfortunately or fortunately, I WANT to see a comeback of the old characters because I LOVE to watch old shows and it is now time for Star Trek to resurface and remend___hey we've still got that feud between Star Wars and wouldn't it be amazing just for once to see Star Trek kick some Star Wars butt at the box office? And it CAN be done with the addition of Bill in the movie! |

Has it occurred that the surviving TOS cast members are out of steam Some treasures are better off left buried (IMO)
Many members here believe that resurrecting TOS would be a success. I do not! With two original members deceased (Bones & Scotty) and only one actor (that is Bill) that remains lively in his career. What have the rest done, lately, which was SUCEESSFUL (not B movies or internet movies) in the entertainment industry (i.e. earning them an Emmy)?

Yes, DOC, you're right! Most of the TOS members have vanished into the gray background--and most have not done anything worthy of Emmys, etc. Actually, I've only seen Takei in The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner, but I hear he is fairly lively with other shows such as NV but I think I saw him in an episode of Voyager...which was a long time ago
Well, maybe I should stop this revive TOS stuff because most of you guys want the same thing
But Bill has been doing Boston Legal and has been singing which makes him deserve an Emmy! |

I don't have the same belief, but I'm glad you are so passionate about yours. Thanks for the background info. |

I started watching The Practice again because James Spader's character was brought in!! And I just had to watch BL after that. What a hoot!! James Spader is an excellent actor and isn't given enough credit. He's just kinda quirky on the toled he chooses.
And the next ST movie??? I just hope it has a decent story. That would be different!!!! Decent actors (or just decent acting) would be a very good thing too. One can only hope.......sigh...... |
