Hi everyone, I'm back down to earth after such an amazing 3 weeks. I've never felt like this after a holiday, relaxed yet stimulated. Going to a completely different part of the world has reawakened by appetite for life and for learning all about this beautiful, glorious world of ours. Seeing how people live and the joy they get from life with far less material possessions but joy and pride in their surroundings makes you reassess your priorities. Diving and watching a turtle, taking a long boat through the rain forest really brings home the beauty of the world. Wandering through a souk with the muezzin calling the faithful to prayer is a fascinating experience. I want to learn everything about these different cultures and what makes them tick.
I just can't wait to get back to Asia...... |

Glad you had a great time in Asia! It is a fascinating part of the world, isn't it? In fact, I am literally about to leave my apartment today for Cambodia, on my fourth trip there.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a pretty amazing time.
Someday, after the kids are grown, I hope to have some adventures of my own. Until then, I'll just kive vicariously through others.

| Thanks. No, Birmingham is on a plateau and we live on a hill in Birmingham. Do feel so sorry for all those poor people who were affected though. |

| It was great to watch, you could tell he had done this before and that he is confident in so many situations. My younger son, Will, is doing his thing now. We left him at Singapore and he flew to Beijing to do an intensive Chinese language course. He's only there for 10 days but it sounds as if he's having an amazing time, he went to a karaoke bar last night. He's always been fascinated by the East and in December he's going to China for 6 months to teach Chinese children English. |
