At the ripe OLD age of 33 I got my FIRST car a Mitsubishi Colt 1985
I loved that sweety till hubby totalled it Shocked
Than I got myself a REAL 1969 VW BEETLE.... a black one with red dots Laughing
After 2 years I started giving a lot more pain than pleasure, so I had to exchange him for a baby blue 1999 Fiat Ceicento Laughing

1970 Ford Maverick ~ bright red with a black stripe. I borrowed $200 for a down payment, but I paid it off.

Really loved that car.

My first car was a '74 AMC Gremlin. It was 3 years old when I bought it from my parents in '77 and I kept it for 3 years.

Since then, things have gone like this:

'77 Triumph TR7 (owned from '80-'84)
'84 Pontiac Fiero (owned from '84-'85)
'85 Mazda 626 (owned from '85-'87)
'87 Mazda RX7 (owned from '87-'93)
'93 Jeep YJ (owned from '93-'99)
'99 Acura EL (owned from '99-'04)
'05 Subaru Legacy (owned from '04-present)

Don't you wish you still had that first car? I do.
I've seen a couple at auto shows that were really well maintained.
Looks like my daughter is leaning toward a new-Beetle or a PT Cruiser, we'll see what we can find thats reasonable.
Anyone ever owned one of these, any recommendations?

I'll just say that I've seen more New Beetles on the side of the road than any other car...this from someone who still has a 1988 VW FOX GL.

I liked the way the PT Cruiser looks...but everyone I talk to about it says PASS

I don't know enough about cars to give intelligent advice Embarassed

First car 1991 Pontiac SL in 2001
After that dies a year later I got a 2000 red Neon
A year and a half later I got a blue Alero 2000 which is the car I am driving now.

My parent bought me the first one and I paid them back. The other two I paid for myself.

I really want a VW Beetle, either light blue or yellow, the new Ford Mustang. But my ultimate dream car is a Viper. If all else fails, I'll definitely take a STARSHIP!!
