Fans of Doctor Who star David Tennant have raised more than £4,000 in memory of the actor's mother, who died recently after a battle with cancer. The team behind David-tennant.com has also launched an online auction of Doctor Who memorabilia for the cause.
Proceeds will go to the Accord hospice in Paisley, Scotland, where Tennant's mother Helen McDonald was cared for. On the website, Tennant wrote: "At this difficult time, I can't tell you what it means that you are doing this."
He added: "Thanks to everyone who has been able to make a donation. I promise you, your money will be well spent." A two-foot-tall ceramic Dalek is among the lots in the auction, and the appeal runs until 23 October 2007. Helen McDonald also raised money for the hospice before her death.

Who said it? "Turning death into a fighting chance to live"??? This fits perfectly here. |
