Even when someone DOES post a message that is focused on Bill, noone bothers to reply.

Sooooooo, those of you who are complaining that this is no longer a Shatner focused board, need to stop belly aching about it.

Trying to tie an actor to one specific role for the rest of his life is doing him a disservice and is, in fact, disrespecting his craft as a character actor.

Perhaps some of you are too young to have gone through years of hearing of actors blowing their brains out because they got pigeon holed into a role and then afterwards could never find work playing other roles.

Bill has proved over and over again that he is much more than Jim Kirk. He is an accomplished actor not just a characterture of some space happy outer space guy.

Come on folks!

And just so you won't take this tooooooo seriously and jump all over me in ranting and raving of uncontrollable rage...... Here take this!

Cool Cool Cool You're absolutely right, Sue Marie. There's more to the man then what meets the eye. He's more than Kirk. He's more than Denny. He's Bill and we do love him for the person he is. Period. What's not to love?

No, I didn't mean it that way, if this post was directed towards me. I never said that I wanted to tie WS to Kirk, it would be nice to see him as Kirk one more time before he goes on to bigger and better things. He is Denny Crane on BL and I totally respect that. I watch BL and love it. I realize that Will is an actor, and new roles are part of the job. But I would like to see him as Kirk again, and I don't think it's fair that they're leaving him in the dark about STXI.

I am seventeen, and believe me, I've heard about enough people blowing their brains out, thanks.

No, kirkcutie, my post was not directed at you. Even I would like to see Bill as Kirk one more time, but I also think that he could bring in an oscar if the industry would ever make a movie centered around Denny Crane and his battle with Alzeimers (mad cow).

Having been a viable part of everyone's lives for so long, many folks could feel the genuine pain of seeing a strong vibrant man slowly sink into the depths of a horrid decease that robs the victim of his memories and inner being.

If anyone could pull that off, Bill could do it and win an oscar to accompany all of those other awards on his mantel.

I am 43 years old and have grown up watching William Shatner in all kinds of roles over the years. It just so happens that the role of James Kirk in Star Trek is my favorite. I am sure that there are alot of people who feel that way. When you think of Star Trek, you automatically think of William Shatner. Star Trek is what made him into the icon that he is, beloved by millions. With this new movie in the works, of course, most of us Star Trek fans want to see Bill put on the uniform one more time. I get the impression that Bill wants to be in the movie as well. After hearing the latest remarks by JJ Abrams, maybe there is still a chance that he will be. I recently started watching Boston Legal and I love it. Bill does a fantastic job portraying Denny Crane. It is his character and James Spader's that make the show worth watching. Bill would do a wonderful job if they were to do a movie about the character and his illness.

A lot of actors I know are like that. Calling Alan Alda "Hawkeye" all the time bugs him. Also, Robin Wiliams HATES being called Mork. Whenever he is doing a comedy gig, there is always that someone who asks "Where's Mork?" or most of the people have Mork & Mindy shirts on...

I too got into Shatner because of Star Trek, but I've started my collection of his movies and I love seeing him in different roles. I'll always know him for ST, but that's not why I'm a fan... completely.

I am a big MASH fan also and love Alan Alda's role as Hawkeye, but I also enjoy his roles in various movies and tv shows (he makes a pretty convincing villian Twisted Evil ) Oh course, it probably doesn't help that MASH is shown nightly on most networks throughout the country.

As for Robin Williams, he is a terrific actor (to be honest... I never really got into the Mork character or the show). I enjoy the various characters that he plays.

One person I have always wondered about is James Doohan. He was a very gifted and talented actor. I am sure that it bothered him at times to be called Scotty all the time (unless he was at a ST convention). With all of those wonderful voices he could do, he was a wonderful story teller.

It is for this reason, I also rejoice when actors who played various ST roles are in other roles in various movies, tv shows, etc.

Who is this "Kirk" of whom you speak?

We know of the great soliloquies "Hamlet", Elegy For The Brave", and the outstanding "King Henry The Fifth", but you've lost us with this "kirk" nonsense....

I know there is a movie Bill did for TV a long time ago that I like and it's about the Andersonville Prisons in the South during and after the Civil War. He played a General inthe movie, trying to see if the man accused of purposly killimg Union soldiers actually did it or not. It was very thought provoking and historical movie!

I have the movie on video that I won on Ebay last year.

In a sense you do not know about Kirk, because Kirk hasn't been born yet in this century. Kirk is a future phenomenom that has somehow traveled through the time continuim to visit us and warn us of little green martians who are invading our world. Twisted Evil
