Pay attention this time.
We are The Martians, and we have several point to make.
Firstly, we're Martians. Not Humans. Our tone may, at times, seem insulting, condescending or downright rude, but that's our way.
We're also Scottish, which doesn't help the first point any.
Secondly, we like to think that our posts are a little insightful, a tad well written, and (dare we say) entertaining to read. Read point one again - we're Martians - we offer a different viewpoint. Humans are funny, you do strange things, and we can't help but point it out.
Thirdly, we're no actually out to offend people.....unless they deserve it.
There was a bit of a tiff in our previous post, and it all got weird. The problem was between us and somebody else who misunderstood our ways, we misunderstood their's, and within a single post each way the problem was solved and we were all friends again.....the crossfire, however, was immense. Don't get in the way, stuff seems to kick off when we're around.....
Fourthly, believe it or not, we're here because of Bill. We're big Sci-Fi fans, mainly Doctor Who, but also Star Trek (even Voyager when we want a giggle), Red Dwarf, Buffy, Firefly/Serenity (GENIUS writing by the way) and many others.
Who are we? Well, we write and produce music, radio scripts, books, articles, interweb ramblings, musicals, comedy.......We Are The Martians........ |

SMB, first of all....thank you....
But I can't think of a better opportunity to point out what's been
wrong lately.......This is perfect....
If I thought the Martians were insulting me, I'd fight back,,,
This is not the case
The case is, we have new guys wanting to play, and they are good at it....
The downside is, and we have seen it,....
Those that don't get that, and on the whole it's women who say
I'm taking up for my buddies, right or wrong....
That's not only wrong, nothing good can come of it....
I don't want to be a part of a sideways "reality show" with alliances....
These guys ARE a breath of fresh air....and damn funny.... |

Well I'm just glad they fixed their Sig line, one can hardly get all worked up and worried that ones days are numbered, while being threatened with “Global Annihilation” from a group that has all manner of unseemly HTML tags in their sig line...
I mean really, It was all <B> and </font> and whatnot. It just ruined the suspension of belief I require to feel properly threatened, that’s all. I mean how hard is it to check these things? It’s no wonder no one believed they were bonafide heat-ray wielding Martians. We can hardly be blamed for any justified (or otherwise) use of foul language and snarkyness which resulted.
Well then, now that we’ve got that behind us, welcome back. Do feel free to chit-chat with the natives and contribute to our provocative banter. But please check your heat-rays at the login as Paul runs a tight ship and being disintegrated makes him very angry, very angry indeed. |
