Strange but true.....

A seagull has turned shoplifter by wandering into a shop and helping itself to crisps, ( potato chips). The bird walks into the RS McColl newsagents in Aberdeen when the door is open and makes off with spicy Doritos.

The seagull, nicknamed Sam, has now become so popular that locals have started paying for his crisps. Shop assistant Sriaram Nagarajan said: "Everyone is amazed by the seagull. For some reason he only takes that one particular kind of crisps."

The bird first swooped in Aberdeen's Castlegate earlier this month and made off with the 55p crisps, and is now a regular. Once outside, the crisps are ripped open and the seagull is joined by other birds.

Clever little bird!

It reminds me of this little chipmunk at Diamond Lake in Eastern Oregon. He would run into the little store they had at the lake, and steal candy off the bottom shelf. The guy that ran the store made sure he stocked the chipmonk's favorite on the bottom shelf, and nobody seemed to mind that he "helped himself" to some. Very Happy

Anyone who lives near the shore knows how ravenous and daring these birds can be.
God forbid you should attempt to eat your lunch around one of these beasts.
It sees the food, squawks, and a couple dozen more of it's brethren magically appear.
Then you might attempt retreating to your car and think that you've given them the slip.
That's when they hover above your vehicle and poop all over it to get revenge for your lack of generosity.

This has been a true story.

Hey, why not?

We go into the forests and other places where they live and take berries, and other fruits they live on!

Cheeky little seagull but at least he knows what he likes! Same for the chipmunk....Bet his dentist wouldn't approve of his eating habits tho.... Wink

Seagulls are extremely acrobatic flyers as well. They frequent fast food places more than people. Image

Seagulls are great at mooching off people. You should be at the beach in Ocean City NJ where they swoop down and nip your fries while you're still holding them.

They'll even swipe a hamburger if you are not guarding it. Shocked Rolling Eyes Laughing

Used to vacation in Duluth, MN and we would go watch the tankers come into the harbor and eat at a little outdoor restaraunt. One swooped and POOF! That was the end of my lunch.
