Hi Pippa!

But I suck at jokes...really...

However you can sometime find some fun in real situations.
Yesterday I went to my son's graduation: it was a rear spectacle , all with the gowns and funny hats (mortars).
It was a bit like a play with costumes. There was a bit of solemnity at the beginning but by the time all diplomas had been given and received the officials left the room and they all seem to be walking so fast....I bet you they were all running to the refresment room! I saw some staff prepare bowls with lovely strawberries and fresh cream......
If they had been for me I would have been almost running too!
And none of the hats fell!

You know I envy those British youngsters with there graduation parties Laughing
The only thing I got was a diploma and a pat on the back Shocked
I would have loved to see them run Razz

My daughter walked around the campus with a hat all yesterday! She wore it a bit loopsided! I think it took the edge of the solemnity.... Wink

In France, where I grew up, they don't have graduations ceremonies either. You just get a Proces verbal of your degree on a thin piece of paper. Later you can send for the proper document.
