Yes Paul.
I think these guys are being very rude and uncalled for on some one expressing thier belief in something they want to accomplish.
Thanks for popping in Paul!

Good Lord. Fine.
Let's just make this place even more nauseatingly saccharine and milk toast than it's already become.
I've responded to and paid more attention to HudsonMan than most of you. Sure we tease him sometimes. I've also provided insight and suggestions for him when he's asked advice. Lots of people tease lots of people here.

teasing is teasing, but, hey, i don't go around teasing you every second of every day! i am trying to be successful as a linux magazine publisher, screenwriter, and a hard working good guy!!! enough of the bullsh*t!
i like putting out requests sometimes, but, i don't expect results every
single time, i just get frustrated easily, part of my manic depressed state of mind... Mark |

Then my apologies, Mark. I meant it in good fun and have always supported your efforts. But consider this the last time I ever post in any of your threads.
Good luck! |

It occurred to me that the Pilot Episodes are not all together in one collection AND why not have the Finales to each Series represented
as well?
So I propose "Beginnings and Endings" with Leonard Nimoy introducing
and concluding the collection. For TNG - Jonathon Frakes introduction and conclusion. For DS9 - Nana Visitor introduction and conclusion. For VOY - Tim Russ introduction and conclusion. For ENT - Jolene Balock introduction and conclusion.
The Original Series Disc 1 : The Cage, Where No Man Has Gone Before, Turnabout Intruder. Bonus Features - Nimoy's Introduction, the Genesis of TOS, TOS' legacy.
The Next Generation Disc 2 : Encounter at Farpoint, All Good Things. Bonus Features - Frakes Introduction and Conclusion, the Genesis of TNG, TNG's legacy.
Deep Space Nine Disc 3 : Emissary, What You Leave Behind. Bonus Features - Visitor's Introduction and Conclusion, the Genesis of DS9, DS9's legacy.
Voyager Disc 4 : Caretaker, Endgame. Bonus Features - Russ' Introduction and Conclusion, the Genesis of VOY, Voyager's legacy.
Enterprise Disc 5 : Broken Bow, Terra Prime. Bonus Features - Balock's Intro and Conclusion, the Genesis of ENT, Enterprise's legacy, Nimoy's conclusion.
Bonus Disc : Goofs Disc 6 : Various Bloopers from ALL of the series with George Takei's fake introduction.
This collection is a MUST esp. if the Remastered versions of those episodes are done in time.
Petition CBS, we MUST have the Pilot Episodes of ALL of the Series!!!

Sounds like some good ideas, Mark. Hate to admit it, but I haven't even purchased TOS on dvd yet......
Have you been catching the new episodes of Ghost Hunter? I'm enjoying them, but they really haven't caught anything interesting since that lighthouse in Florida. But hey, I get a kick out of the characters.... |

Is it rude to ask people to spend their time and effort to petition CBS with an idea for a packaged DVD series after they already released Star Trek on DVD recently? Isn't that asking people to waste their time?? Is it rude to use this forum to market a Linux operating sytem time and time again? Is it rude to regularly mention your personal problems to everyone else? Is it rude to use the forum as an online dating service?
People interpret things in many different ways, right or wrong. |

Amen.
I don't need the touchy-feely, Kumbaya thought police here telling me whether I'm rude or not. One, I don't care what they think. Two, mind your own business and butt out.
Like I said, you and I may good-naturedly rib Mark, but at least we don't ignore him like most of this place does. One would assume that Mark, by posting what he posts and generally not contributing to other threads, would like interplay with people here.
Some of the same people got all upset when that crackpot patti ran roughshod over this place and out of control, and people called her out on it. |

Well, it's awfully darn early in the morning to be serious, but...........
To me it's not so much a matter of whether something is considered rude or not, as whether or not it is hurtful. Now personally, every time I see the guys make boobie comments, etc., I cringe. I don't like, don't think it is appropriate, would love to see it stop, but, I don't say too much. I know that even though I'm not fond of it, people are just kidding around.
I think Mark has a lot of different ideas. Mark, you are a lot more computer smart than I am, so I don't always respond to the computer talk, because, well, I just don't understand it.
Now I realize not everyone is interested in the same sort of projects, and that is fine. But unless someone is being harmful, or hurtful to others in their threads, I don't care if they discuss the best way to have sex with hummingbirds (well, okay, I'm pretty sure the hummingbird would not be okay with that.....), as long as they are not hurting anyone, then why not just let it go. To taunt or tease someone, especially after they have mentioned that it bothers them, isn't just rude, it's mean. And damn it all, why can't everyone be as sweet natured as I am???? |

I'm just grumpy. I miss the old forum.
As far Mark, yesterday was the first time he mentioned viewing it as 'mean'. So that's that. I'll stay out of his threads like most people do. Maybe he'll contribute in other threads too sometime. Technically speaking, what he does is sort of advertising -- so I suppose that could be made an issue with the 'rules' here. |

I am not the only one to mention personal problems on here. What I mention is my buisness. Others have personal problems they also air in here. People post a lot of things on here that have to do with their personal lives. If you don't want to read about mine, dont read my posts or threads. Simple as that. IF Paul or William does not want me to do it and they say stop I will.
The same with Mark. IF the admin has a problem he will say something. I am saying some thing as you are teasing and badgering some one with you and others remarks that ARE rude and uncalled for. Teasing is a form of bullying. With Paul asking Mark if he needs to step in I think he is giving you guys a subtle warning that the posts are getting out of hand in this thread.

Snake-bite kits at the ready because I'm of the same mind as Cat. I don't know doodley squat about computers. Mark is too technical on his descriptions, but I wish him the best of luck. Hugs and kisses, Mark! How's that for Kumbaya |

That's fine. And likewise, when Paul makes it very clear what he feels and makes a not-so-subtle suggestion, you don't need to pile on and make your little comments either. I think Paul can take care of himself and doesn't need peanut gallery help.
I maintain that I wasn't being mean to Mark -- in fact, I think I've generally been very nice to Mark. But fine -- point taken and it obviously won't happen again because I'm not touching any of his threads. Not the "you'd have to be dumb to use Windows", not the "Star Trek petitions", not a one. |

Tell ya what, Diane. I'm banning myself permanently. Not because of you, not because of Mark, not because of anyone. Here's why:
I like to have fun. People, like yourself are waaaaay too depressing for me. There's always some type of problem, something to worry about, something to be offended with. Continue to live your life complaining, crying and fretting away the time.
Adios amigos! I had a really good time, but I'm moving on! And trust me, I'm not the type of person that posts this and sneaks back 2 months or 2 years later!!
Hey, I'm sure some people will love this, so at least I will make their day!!
Last thought for what it's worth:
Live to have fun and enjoy your time here on this planet. |
