The house was so empty and I was so depressed. So I give you...

Spock

Which clearly I named. He's a 4 month old lab/shar-pei mix.

Annnnnnnd....

My daughter's chosen dog Anna Beth

Believe it or not, she's a 2 month old rotwiller/shitzu mix.

As soon as they're spayed/neutered and put a chip in they're ours. Probably as soon as the end of next week. Smile

I know I'm so excited. My husband said as soon as I walked into the room I had a perma grin. Spock was jumping for me and Ayla went right to hers.

Spock is gonna be a handfull. I mean he's really manic but I can train him quickly. Anna Beth is very quiet and calm.

Labs are allot to handle, but I don't think I'd ever live without one. First Murphy, now Spooky, they're the greatest dogs. Spooky is a black Lab/Rottie mix, and even though he's a wild man, he was easy to train, really smart.
He's a great friend.

Congrats on the new family members Tina. Very Happy

They have briefly been set down together where Spock imediately wanted to play and prance around little Anna Beth but there is a big size difference at 2/4 months. But I figure she's half Rot (not gonna try to spell it lol) so she'll catch up. Smile

They will be fine with each other! It may be a little rough in the beginning, but they're close enough in age and will be great! Just make sure to bring them home together. You will probably have a few fights before they settle in. One of them will establish dominance over the other.

Poor Rocky got the snot beat out of him when I got him. Mollie was a little over a year old, and there wasn't another dog in the house. She had to let him know who was boss. Attacked him a few times (gashed his face once!!! Shocked ). They now eat out of the same dish.... Dogs..... Rolling Eyes

Well, I talked to the SPCA today. The application for my daughter's Anabeth has been accepted and she can pick her up next Tuesday. However, Spock (or, Elvis actually) had an application filled out for him before ours so we lost him. Sad Very disappointing. But when we go back to pick Ayla's puppy up we'll look there again. Hopefully we'll find something or maybe find someone around here giving mixed breeds away. We can't afford a full bred dog. Plus the mixed breeds seem to live longer. Still sad we couldn't get the one we fell in love with.

Although I don't know the exact locations, my rough 'guess-timation' is that there's probably about 13 hours of driving involved one-way (give or take a couple of hours). That's entirely do-able from a 'let's make it a weekend' (leave on a Saturday / come back on a Sunday) point of view...

...and I'll bet that David would have a cool beverage or two waiting for you!

Interesting story, I hope Idea

We had a map, and found Hollidaysburg, but had no address, no idea.....

As we were tooling into town, I noticed a big man with his shirt off washing his car in the driveway. We drove a little farther and stopped at a restaurant/
kwik store to ask for help.(her name was Wendy)

I ask one of the ladies if anyone knew her(used her full name)....Ha
She used to work there Idea

First they giggled and kept saying....just say something else, anything

So I did.......giggles again Embarassed

They told me her father lived just down the road Idea

You guessed it Idea

The guy washing his car was the father. I had a
"Riverside Ford Macon, Ga" tag on the front of my car(just bought it)
I pulled in the driveway and said "Sir, I'm David from Ga". He
said "no shit"......LOL

I think he was ex-US Marine.....he gave us directions to his ex-wife and Wendy Embarassed

Y'know, with just a little enthusiasm and self-promotion, this could easily have the makings of a WSBBS 'Deep South Summit'!

Identify a suitable restaurant within a stone's throw of Gornman's longitude and latitude (along with a hotel for overnighting)...

Invite WSBBS'ers within a day or two drive to attend (there's a few of us)...

If it wasn’t clear at the time I posted it, this was tongue-in-cheek ...not the ‘gentleman’ part (I am that), but the suggestion that it would be in any way appropriate for a married woman to go on a multi-day roadtrip with a man who isn’t her husband (it clearly wouldn’t be).

However, my interest in seeing a puppy adoption party as the destination for a WSBBS ‘Gumball Rally’ stands...

...there's some serious fun potential there!
