Yeah but all that stuff just tastes SO DARN GOOD!

Don't mind me, just remembering the good 'ole days before the food police arrived...... Laughing White Castle, Taco Hell (Bell), McDonalds, etc.

C caught me with a buttered roll this morning, and I thought I'd be chased out of Dodge. "White flour? Butter? OMG!" Laughing Laughing Laughing

Mostly home made stuff, fruit preserves, or organic peanut butter (yuck),etc. She makes allot of her own stuff, she's really food conscience. Not that that's a bad thing, but every once in a while it's "good" to eat the "bad" stuff, ya know?.....(or at least let me get away with it) Very Happy

Free range, organic, herbal, etc.
Getting used to hearing all this.
But every once in a while I want rare steak, fried potatoes, raw oysters, etc....

I know it's cause she cares. So I put up with it..... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Bob and I very seldom eat out. we prefer to prepare our meals.

Even some of the so called high end restaurants are questionable. There are some here in Florida that cater to the more sophisticated kind and the prices are not cheap by any means. I have been to a couple as a guest, but could barely stand being there. Each time, the restaurant was located near a large body of water and the building smelled like mildew and rotten wood. ick!

The food wasn't bad, but for what they charged, I could have gotten a month's worth of groceries.

Like a wise person once told me. "You will pay what someone else thinks they can get away with charging you."

Here's how you build it bottom up.
Start with a crusty bun.
Spread some hummus on the bread (optional)
Add a slice of eggplant sauteed in olive oil.
Then slices of feta cheese.
Sauteed red onion.
Red pepper slice.
Thick slice of portabello mushroom sauteed in sweet cooking seasoning.
Another slice of Red pepper ( orange or green for variety)
Broiled tomato slice with Parmesan cheese
Slice of pimento
added greens for garnish..

Voila.

The nachos are for guilty since the main course is so healthy. N

Very Happy

OK, I'll be honest here.

I was in my office recently, eating a yogurt and having a cup of Chai tea. I scared myself. It just suddenly hit me, jeez, when did I come to this?

I feel better now than I did when I was 25.
I'm going to be 50 this year, so it's about time, I guess.

Sometimes you've got to adapt.
I've been f*ing assimilated.
Seriously.

Now I gotta quite smoking.

That confession didn't hurt ya did it?

Now...about the smoking part. I did mention to you how I quit the smoking habit, but that was years ago when that happened for me (I was carrying my daughter Lynda at the time). At least for me it was mind over matter. Wink

Actually, that should be a topic for another thread.
