William Shatner Main Discussion - Recovering from Shatner Overload:):):) daisydownunder - May 12, 2008 - 08:05 AM Post subject: Recovering from Shatner Overload:):):)Hi Everyone I am back home in Australia . still recovering from the 3 plane flight back , and 3 SSSS checks again . One day I would love to know why they do this to me it is every time I go overseas now:) need to get Denny Crane on to this:)
I have to say it was a great weekend despite my heat exhaustion and Blood pressure problems. I was Ok after about 4 days at Jeanette's. but the slightest thing started the trembling. even now I am still not 100% .
It was great seeing you all again and the look on Sues face when she saw me there was priceless.
Jane Sandy and all who were concerned about me, many thanks.
a special mention to Sherry who made this trip possible, she was great picking me up in LAX, taking me out to see my beloved Tyrone Powers grave . and then again on my last day in LA. and just there for me . a great person !
Shatner overload!!! yes this was the cause of my down fall:) Bill was so gracious in all of the heat it was 100 dg plus with no shade. the weekend has been covered very well by others. but the moment I will never forget was when Bill had the Photo op. and instead of the horse between us ( it was to hot for the horse) Bill put his arm around my waist and I did the same back while Jane took 2 or 3 pictures. what a wonderful moment for all of us. and also watching Bill work on the Boston legal set. How privileged is this. He came over to the final group and spoke to us, he said just hang on for a few moments and we will be ready to do the scene. so while we silently waited we watched James Spader just 3 foot in front of me, get his make up fixed. he was completely in the zone concentrating on the job at hand .
Now you see what I mean when we say the Shatner Weekend is by far the best way to see this man at work and play, see his family and just have a great week end .
Paul thanks for the big goodbye hug and time spent with you and the gang over the final dinner .
It Is Nice to Go Travelling But It Is Oh So Nice To Come Home.

I am glad that you are safe and sound at home Daisy. And yes, your coming to the weekend was one of the highlights of my time there. It would not have been the same without you.
I must admit that I have a case of Shatner afterglow myself. For me, It wasn't just seeing Bill or having our photos taken with him, but it was the whole experience of sharing a goal of helping others in a great charity event that will make a difference in the lives of many people, especially children. It is sometimes hard to find charities that can be trusted to get the funds where they are needed and with Bill's credibility, my husband and I will be doing our best to help support the HSHS as time goes on.
And folks, if you have never met Paul in person, you need to. He is a big, cuddly teddy bear of a sweetheart. oops, maybe I shouldn't say that here. Joe - May 12, 2008 - 01:33 PM Post subject:

Can't wait to see the pictures! daisydownunder - May 14, 2008 - 09:44 AM Post subject: I am sorry to say that I didnt get any Bill Images because of the health problem and the sun. Also my digital is no good for the speed Bill rides and one needs a zoom:)
However I got a few of the gang and my visit to Oklahoma and Tyrone Powers grave. I will scan my Autographed image and will put these up later:) thanks all those who wished me a speedy recovery, also when Jane sends me the Photo of Me with Bill I will put that on here:)
The 3 planes to get me home were indeed a test.
Today I am feeling well again.
Conny did put some great Images of Bill on the Captains club.
now 4 days since I got home and I am back to my old self again , took a lot out of me this trip:)
