William Shatner Main Discussion - Dino dung snapped up at auction britstarfan - May 02, 2008 - 04:36 PM Post subject: Dino dung snapped up at auction
Two pieces of dinosaur dung have been sold at auction for $960 (£486) at an auction house in New York.
The fossilised dung, which resembles rock on the outside, and a colourful mineral inside, is 130 million years old, from the Jurassic period.
Auctioneers Bonhams of New York said it sold for twice the expected price. The buyer is reported to be Steve Tsengas, the 71-year-old owner of a company that sells products to treat pet animal waste in Ohio. "Poop is big business in the pet industry," he is quoted as saying by AP.
Thoughts?

I think it's appropriate. Pet waste company owner owning petrified dino poo. It goes together. I imagine he'll use it as a doorstop or a paperweight. He can take it home and put it on his coffee table as a conversation piece. I wouldn't mind owning it. But that's too much money for a piece of poo.Cat - May 02, 2008 - 08:20 PM Post subject:
Well naturally I'm horribly upset that I don't own Dino poo. I never get anything.......angel - May 02, 2008 - 10:29 PM Post subject:

Or, Wilma's necklace.
Seriously, how do they tell the difference between dino poo and a simple rock? Couldn't someone just pick up a rock, call it that and sell it for a big price?MG - May 10, 2008 - 11:14 PM Post subject:
Now you know the truth behind waste disposal. They're burying it as an investment for the future. Claudia - May 11, 2008 - 12:44 AM Post subject: littlestar - May 11, 2008 - 11:58 PM Post subject:
