William Shatner Main Discussion - Takei me!

Its been announced, the deuchebag that runs our local Con has booked George Takei. Thats cool but it looks like to get an autograph we gotta pay an extr $75 for a meet and greet party. But the speeches and panels are included. Not a big surprise since he is a big catch for a con and would require some extra scratch. But the conchair is still a deuchenozzle. No one in the club can stand him. He doesnt pander to the hard core con-ers.

Can anyone relate? How is Takei in person?

He was very friendly and invited the entire audience to jog with him in the morning.

$75 for a signature? Is it made of gold? Either the organiser of the Con is running a real con or Takei has an inflated opinion of himself. But then again so do most 'celebs'.

I have a healthy dislike of celebs. I hate entertainment news. These people really dont deserve the attention. And going to Cons you see thier true colors. Most of them are really superficial jerks. Stereotypes are often true. Keonig was a jerk. That chick from B5 that was in playboy was a jerk, totally fake. They get paid to do these things and they cant even pretend in public like they are nice. Denise Crosby was just kinda there. To be fair, Nichelle Nicoles seemed very nice. And the nerdy dude from X files was cool. He actually came back 3 years in a row he had so much fun, and tang. I heard Erny Hudson was cool. But all my years, 20+, going to cons thats the only ones that seemed down to earth.

I've met him; see avatar; and he's a real nice guy. He doesn't lord it over anyone but if you pick on him he can dish it out with the best of them.
Basically he's a real person who happens to be an icon. Cool

Met Robert Picardo one time..nice until he noticed that you weren't looking to by his book, if you just wanted to chat. Then he pretty much decided to ignore you Rolling Eyes Laughing Cool
Met Dirk Benedict...lovely lovely man. Had heart palpitations meeting him. He played peek-a-boo with my baby. He signed his autograph for free! I came away from meeting him with very heartwarming feelings. Very Happy

Hey angel: "Faceman" always came off as one filled with himself, but I loved him on the "A" team.

You might find it interesting to know that "Howling Mad Dog Murdock's" daughter is in one of my wifes classes.
I hope he comes to visit her, I'd love to meet him. Embarassed

Hey Spock1! Faceman was snooty to you? That's strange! I saw him back in 2002 and he was sweet as sugar! But I think it may have had to do with the fact that I was wearing a tanktop and short-shorts at the time. The dude was scoping out my legs as I was walking away! No joke! Rolling Eyes Embarassed Embarassed Laughing Cool I find that very interesting that you're wife has Dwight's daughter in her class. Talk about having less than six degrees of seperation! I'd looooove to meet Dwight Schultz! OMG! I loved him as Howling Mad Murdock! He was soo funny in that episode in the A-Team where they're in this prison and they need to make a getaway by using trashbags, hairdryers, and lawnchairs. He kept on screaming "I want a trashbag! Give me a trashbag!" over and over again! And when he got one he'd crawl in it and shuffle his feet in it and give the guard such a creepy little smile! Laughing Laughing Laughing Hilarious! That scene cracks me up every time. And of course he's incomparable as the quirky and smart Reginald Barclay! He's the king of comedy/action shows! Cool Cool
