Greetings... My name is SAM... I am an automaton created by Dan to help on extra heavy days...
I am usually assigned to the Kitchen area but there are exceptions when I can be found out here.....
As usual each of you have a key to the Cafe and can help yourself or others with their cyber treats...
Pippa will, of course, still remain Mistress of the Realm....
Thanks for stopping in...We know you had a choice!

Just think of me as a conservative Barbara Streisand Wink Laughing

This day and age we're living in
Gives cause for apprehension
With speed and new invention
And things like fourth dimension.
Yet we get a trifle weary
With Mr. Einstein's theory.
So we must get down to earth at times
Relax relieve the tension

And no matter what the progress
Or what may yet be proved
The simple facts of life are such
They cannot be removed.]

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.

It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Not hide nor hair of a soul in sight.
Looks at the glass domed pedestal holding several pieces of excellent looking New York cheese cake smothered in strawberries that Sam has made from scratch.
Gets off stool goes around the corner of the counter, lifts a plate and a fork, gets a teabag and a cup and fills the cup with hot water from the carafe', places two pieces of the cheesecake on plate, and proceeds to scarf them down and drink tea without burning roof of mouth. Still listening to the quiet. *sigh*...roots through junky purse and places a 10 spot on the counter with a note to keep the change. Experimenting in the kitchen again for a quick and easy recipe that doesn't cost alot. I've found a good one. Spicy and filling. I'm sorry that it's not for vegans, though. We're a carniverous bunch in my household. This recipe can be switched around so that you can use chicken or even tofu if you want.

1pd of hamburger browned w/ grease drained, add one pkg. of taco seasoning. Follow instructions for taco seasoning on pkg.

Cook one box of macaroni and cheese-7.25 oz size- follow instructions on cooking the macaroni and cheese.

Combine the seasoned hamburger and the mac and cheese together and add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of hot picante sauce to mixture. Sprinkle with a mixture of Monterey Jack and cheddar if you wish or jalepenos.

It's really good! But my picky girl insisted on putting hotsauce on it. She's picky picky picky! But don't trust my girl's judgement 'cause she doesn't like anything! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Rain today and very cool for this time of the year and will be warmer tomorrow and Sunday.

Storms Sunday night into Tuesday morning so our cook out may have to wait till it clears up!

Got some brats and hot doggies, baked beans, chips and salad..not to mention soda pop and lemonade.I have a small flag we are taking to the cemetery to place on our relatives grave that served in the Civil war in 1864-1865. For some reason the caretaker doesen't put a flag on his grave every year, but he does every one else... Evil or Very Mad

My Great Grandfather served in the Civil War.....He was at Gettysburg
They ALWAYS put a Flag on His Grave.... Get in touch with the Veterans Admin. and explain the situation...they will put the brass Flag Holder on the Grave and then the cemetary has to place a flag in it... it is the Law!

^^ lol I've bopped people several times upside the head, but only because they were being 'tards and embarrassing me Laughing I go to a chat room and as with all chats you'll have your bots and spammers, but you'll also have those ignorant people who want to start shit just because. You ignore them and life goes on Smile Over all it's a nice grouping of people. I like that a little more than I do forums but both have their strengths.

*chuckles* I dun even remember how old I was back then. If ya'll remember when the board was first started, then I'd remember Razz lol I know it was a looooong while ago.

Laughing Laughing Laughing This is the only place that I interact with people. I'm not in other places such as chatrooms and I'm in complete ignorance of alot of the lingo that people use, like bots. I know alot about spam, though! Laughing Laughing Besides it being that greasy stuff in the can. I even found out about trolls on here. Amusing people who will troll around boards to cause trouble. I like it when they get on here. Not so much for what they say because alot of it's mean stuff about our Host w/ the most, but because when they dare try to show their ugly selves on here everyone swarms on them like a hive of Africanized bees! It's hilarious! Laughing Laughing I think that this forum is neat because you can leave it for a while if you need to and answer back when you can. With a chatroom I imagine it's like talking on a phone and you have to let them know you're hanging up!
I wasn't here when the board first came about but this will be my 3yrd year being here in Dec. I do remember you being a young one.

Mature is like manure. It has it's definite uses but in the long run it stinks! But it's ironic that I keep on stressing to my teenage boy that he has to mature! Shocked Shocked I guess it's a matter of getting out of the insanity long enough to modify it to where it doesn't hurt a person or others. Cool Cool

lol, a bot is like a computer that can talk to you. You ever called the phone company and get a voice menu (press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish)? Well it's the same thing, except in text format. Some are friendly and some are downright harmful. Thankfully I've never encountered a harmful bot (knock on wood) but I have the friendly ones. And spam (besides the canned meat) is like unwanted advertisement...but repeated continuously. Like someone posting "Eat at Joes" for 2 pages of a thread. So yeah, hopefully that helped Smile

But yeah, chat rooms are just like talking on the phone, and for people who type slower than most others (like me) it can be a hassle at times. But either way it's fun. You don't have to wait a day and a half to finish a conversation lol

I think the board's been running longer than that lol *comes back after about an hour of searching* I officially joined the new forum back in '02 but I don't remember how long it was before then. So basically I was anywhere between 16-17 years old when I first logged on Very Happy Wow you guys kinda watched me grow ^.^ Feel proud lol

You have a point about maturity there. Tho I dun like sanity much more either >.o

I had already typed alot of stuff in reply to your reply but for some damn reason the computer logged me off and wiped out what I was saying! Argh! Mad Mad One of the things I do not like about computers!

The explanations for the computer terms are helpful! Thanks! I spammed the board one day with a repetitive sentence on all the threads of the main page. Most of the people ignored me and some didn't. Some had a laugh over it and some didn't. Laughing Laughing Either way I had fun! I'm thinking of doing something similar some time soon because I'm getting restless and want to play again! Laughing Laughing

I can type fairly fast but I'm buggy about grammar and punctuation because one careless creature pointed out some time ago that it drove them buggy about people being careless about that stuff. So, I'm always going back and fixing my mistakes. I also enjoy some of the new lingo that people do on the board. Like: OMG, WTF, and lol. Now that saves time! My son laughs at me because I type like a kid on the computer now. Well, sometimes. I'm still pretty long-winded!

You were that "little" when you joined! Incredible! I guess some of us have "watched" you grow up! I thought there was an age limit for kids because of some of the seamier topics on the board i.e. the last couple of posts on the thread of Mr. Takai's wedding. I have a bomb icon on my Rubber Room thread because I don't want parents to not know what their kids are reading. Common courtesy, but some of the times people forget to use the warning signs.

The older I've become I'm starting to realize that the way to true bliss is to be insane responsibly. I was such a stodgy kid a long time ago. I would have avoided myself if I could. Had to get a sense of humour. Now I'm somewhere in the middle and I think that suits me just fine! Laughing Laughing

Welp back from fishing. And not a single bite >< 'Cept for dad, he caught a tiny little thing. Oh well, gives us incentive to fix our boat *nod*

As long as people are oki with your spams I dun think it's a big problem. Though I do remember no bumps are allowed, right?

My typing depends on whether I'm in a lazy mood or in a grammatically correct mood. Most of the time I always "cross my 'T's' and dot my 'I's'". I actually got a compliment about that a few days ago. Someone asked me how old I was because I "sounded" mature from the way I typed. It's interesting Smile Oh yeah, I know of a few more things fer ya...BTW - By the way, AFK - away from the keyboard, LMAO - Laugh my @$$ off, ROFL- Roll on the floor laughing (combine the two to form roflmas - roll on the floor laughing my @$$ off)...and that's it for now >.>...<.<...>.>...^.^

I know some people here know what they are, but there are some that don't. For the longest time I didn't know what AFK and BTW meant Razz

Well, I was going through those awful fazes called "teenage years". I loved them, and there are times I want to go back, but then again I like I have now too. One day I will go back again... when my future kids are that age *nodnod* Oh how fun that will be >< And it's predicted that my generation will have twins. *hopes so much that it'll be her sister*

I've always wondered what that "bump" ment. A few people do it now and then and I wonder if it's just some way to give attention to a certain topic.

You do sound quite abit more mature than your 21yrs. Very Happy I still have trouble using some of the symbols to make kitties and such. I tried to make a halo and wings one time combined with my name but it doesn't submit well. I knew what BTW was but AFK is a new one on me!

sure... it won't take so long to download... but can I suggest a few rules to make it more... challenging.

1. only two words (no in between words)
2. no changing the spelling or a noun into a verb, etc.
3. If the second word leads to a dead end... the game starts over with a new word.
4. Any two word phrase that is Trek or Kirk or Shatner related ends the game with the last person being the "winner" and get to start a new game with a new word.

of course, all of the above can be ignored.
