Customs and Quarantine officers have broken a smuggling racket in which snakes and lizards were sent as gifts, concealed in the hollow spaces of pottery figurines and garden gnomes.

Garden gnomes sent to an address in Blacktown were seized on June 10 when a customs officer saw snakes moving in the package, a customs spokesman said.

Two snakes and three lizards were found inside the gnomes at the Australia Post Gateway Facility at Clyde in Sydney's west.

The package was resealed and the reptiles, sent from Britain, euthanased because of quarantine concerns.

The snakes there didn't bother me, but I have to admit I sure had a fear of those nasty Funnel Web's! Shocked

My husband and I were having dinner in a restaurant in Northern Queensland. It was an old train dining car, refurnished. In the window next to my seat was what I think they called a "money" spider. I insisted on being moved, and everyone thought I was a huge sissy. But, that darn thing was the size of my dinner plate! He was big enough I was afraid he was going to order his own dinner and charge it to us! Wink

Gornie, I've tried talking to our gnomes. But, we just can't trust them. I finally had to set up a surveilance camera to see what they were really up to while we slept. Sad

Speaking of Gnomes, has anyone seen or heard from TeClayton? I sure hope his silly Gnome hasn't gone and done some dastardly deed.

We all know how that Gnome loved explosives. Shocked

When I first saw this pic before reading the article, I thought it was a photo of a Gnome taking a dump. Of course, I immediately thought that it must be Vito's Gnome.

Sorry Vito. Embarassed

The Gnome'ster has been 'getting around' as usual, but no reptiles involved...

...at least none that I'm aware of...

...yet.

Shocked

I'll work on posting a few new pics over the next couple of days.
