In the October 11th episode of Boston Legal, Denny Crane (William Shatner) and Alan Shore (James Spader) travel to a remote, exotic Canadian fishing resort called Nimmo Bay in British Columbia. It's a perfect setting for some bonding between the characters and provides a diversion for Alan Shore who is reeling over his break up with Tara Wilson (Rhona Mitra). |

William Shatner loves a good practical joke and anyone who has seen the Star Trek blooper reels is aware that he has a good sense of humor. So, it’s not really all that surprising that he would be behind a new improvisational comedy premiering on Spike TV on March 29th at 9:00pm ET/PT entitled Invasion Iowa in which he leads an entire town to believe that he is shooting an independent science fiction movie when in fact he and his cohorts are really filming the town’s reactions to their crazy Hollywood antics. |

As William Shatner celebrates his birthday today and takes a moment to reflect upon the last 12 months, he'll have to admit to himself that this has been a very good year. He won an Emmy for his skillful portrayal of the cunning, eccentric senior lawyer Denny Crane on ABC-TV's The Practice, and went on to capture a Golden Globe for his reprisal of the character on the spin-off series, Boston Legal. He showed several horses at the world championships in Louisville, Kentucky and expertly drove one of his horses to victory, winning the Fine Harness Amateur Championship. Last Fall, he released an album with Ben Folds, his first in decades. The album entitled Has Been received wide critical acclaim landing on Rolling Stone's list of top 10 picks for the year. And now as March is winding down, he's just warming up. |

There wasn't an empty seat in the house as William Shatner took to the stage during a recent appearance at the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles. The event took place on Monday, July 19th from 7-9pm and was part of the SAG Foundation's prestigious Conversations series which provides the opportunity for high profile actors to share their knowledge and experience with fellow Guild members. Todd Amorde moderated the 2-hour discussion which was, as Bill's daughter Lisabeth Shatner aptly described in a recent post, "funny, touching, inspiring." The first half of the evening was devoted to reminiscing about Bill's long and remarkable acting career, while the second half was devoted to answering questions posed by members of the audience. |

This year, we decided to combine our annual fan club get together, Shatner Weekend 2004, with the Hollywood Charity Horse Show affording members the opportunity to attend both events during the same 3-day period. We scheduled a full slate of activities between Friday, April 30th and Sunday, May 2nd including lunch with Bill, a VIP tour of Paramount Pictures, and several visits to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, site of the 14th Annual Hollywood Charity Horse Show. Just two days before the start of the Weekend, Bill invited us to attend the taping of his appearance on the On-Air with Ryan Seacrest show and we were delighted to juggle the itinerary to include this special event. It provided a wondrous complement to an absolutely magical Weekend. |
